What To Do First After A Wipe in ARC Raiders

Okay, so I tried the voluntary wipe feature – the Expedition Project – in ARC Raiders, and it’s definitely a fresh start, especially if you’re new to it. It means losing your current character progress, but honestly, it’s kinda cool. If everything goes smoothly, you get a nice little boost – 5 extra Skill points and a 10% XP buff, which makes leveling up way faster. It’s a good way to jump back in and feel powerful quickly!

Just because everyone’s starting fresh doesn’t mean it will be easy. Even experienced players might miss their previous abilities at first. The good news is they’ll likely improve much faster this time around. Here are five essential tips for players to focus on immediately after a wipe in ARC Raiders. Following these will help you get the most out of this fresh start.

1. Level Up Scrappy Fast

A Raider’s Best Friend

In ARC Raiders, Scrappy is more than just a companion – he’s a helpful assistant who gathers essential resources like Basic Materials and Seeds after each mission. The better you upgrade Scrappy, the quicker he collects these items, so focusing on leveling him up completely should be your first goal, even before working on the Workbenches.

After the wipe, players will be able to quickly gather essential resources. By building and upgrading the Refiner, they can soon fill their Stashes with more advanced materials. Everything, including crafting benches, needs to be rebuilt, and Scrappy the dog will significantly speed up the process. To get started, players need to obtain a Dog Collar and train Scrappy to level 2. Then, they’ll need to collect some Lemons (found at Blue Gate) and Apricots (found in Dam Battlegrounds). Once Scrappy reaches level 3, players will be well on their way. From there, it’s all about building momentum and crafting useful materials with the basic resources Scrappy provides.

2. Collect Priority Loot For Workshop Upgrades

It’s Time To Rebuild The Crafting Benches

When players are defeated, their Stash will contain only a few starting items: simple weapons, light shields, and basic enhancements. Everything else is lost, meaning they need to rebuild from scratch, beginning with the Crafting Benches. Players might find setting up and upgrading these benches more difficult than before, and that’s intentional. Because Skill Trees are reset upon defeat, players won’t gather resources as quickly, move as fast, or receive bonus materials.

To best improve your base, focus on collecting essential upgrade materials, especially for reaching level 2. Key items include Rusted Tools, Surveyor Vaults, Rusty Gears, Mechanical and Electrical Components (both basic and advanced), a large amount of ARC Alloy, ARC Motion Cores, Wasp and Hornet Drives, Cooling Fans, Damaged Heat Sinks, and Fabric. You can easily find these materials in areas with Dynamic Events like Night Raid or Cold Snap, as these events significantly increase the amount of loot available. Just be sure to stay safe while collecting!

3. Use The EXP Boost To Level Up Faster

If You Are Not Doing This, Then What’s The Point Of Wiping?

Players earn experience points (EXP) faster the more they explore and actively participate on the Topside – fighting enemies, opening containers, and generally staying mobile. The experience boost after each server wipe makes newly spawned players particularly dangerous, as they can level up very quickly. Reaching level 30 will therefore be a top priority for most players following a wipe.

Why level up to that specific point? If players can earn 5,000,000 Credits for 5 extra Skill Points, they can fully specialize in one of the three Skill lines: Survival, Mobility, or Conditioning. However, it’s important to focus on a single Skill Tree rather than spreading points around. Choose Survival to find more loot, or Mobility for quicker completion times. Conditioning can be helpful in certain situations, or it can greatly benefit players who enjoy player-versus-player combat, but that’s a personal choice.

4. Prioritize Survival Tree To Recover High-Level Gear Faster

This Is The Faster Way Back To The Top

Round Crafting is incredibly useful, ensuring players can always make essential items even when they’re low on resources in the Topside – as long as the skill is active. While Traveling Tinkerer is also beneficial, the primary advantage of focusing on the Survival Tree is the increased amount of loot you find and how quickly you can collect it.

Once players reach level 36 (which happens around level 30 after using the Wipe feature with 5 extra skills), they can unlock Security Lockers. These lockers are hidden throughout the maps in generally safe areas and contain valuable loot. Players could easily spend an entire game session just opening these lockers and avoiding player-versus-player combat, quickly getting their hands on top-tier gear, blueprints, and materials.

5. Farm Blueprints

Last And Finally, It’s Time To Re-Unlock All Recipes

It’s great to upgrade your workbenches in ARC Raiders, but getting Blueprints should be a high priority when you start a new game. A good way to quickly find them is by taking part in Dynamic Events like Cold Snap and Night Raid. While these events are risky for beginners, they offer a much better chance of finding Blueprints compared to standard gameplay.

Each map has safer areas where players can reliably find blueprints. For example, in Dam Battlegrounds, the Pale Apartments and Ruby Residence usually have plenty of blueprints and aren’t often the focus of player-versus-player combat. The Formicai Outpost and the Radio Tower (between the Scrap Yards and Water Towers) are also good spots to search. In Buried City, the Library is the best place to find new blueprints. Finally, Blue Gate’s Launch Towers contain many blueprints, but be aware that this area is a popular spot for PvP battles.
