Fans of the classic arcade game Crazy Taxi now have a new, brightly-colored driving experience to try with Taxi Chaos 2, which unexpectedly launched on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) on December 23rd. PlayStation 5 and Epic Games Store players will need to wait until January 13th, but everyone can check out the latest trailer to get a sneak peek at the game’s fast-paced, futuristic action.
The original Crazy Taxi sparked a wave of fun, arcade-like driving games, including popular titles like Simpsons: Hit and Run, Mile High Taxi, and the first Taxi Chaos. It’s often tricky for these games to strike the right balance between a funny story and engaging gameplay, especially when the character is always driving around outside. Taxi Chaos 2 aims to build on the strengths of games like Crazy Taxi while also fixing the problems found in the first Taxi Chaos.
Taxi Chaos 2 Brings Crazy Taxi Nostalgia with a Modern Tech Twist
In the action-packed game Taxi Chaos 2, you play as Vinny, a cab driver trying to navigate a futuristic city under attack by rogue, AI-controlled taxis. Players must race through the chaotic streets of San Valeda, picking up and dropping off passengers while dodging obstacles and taking advantage of shortcuts. The city itself is constantly changing – routes open and close, and the time of day shifts, affecting traffic and creating unexpected events. Even your passengers can impact how the city reacts, adding to the challenge! Inspired by classic racing games, Taxi Chaos 2 focuses on fast-paced, engaging gameplay and rewarding progression as you explore everything San Valeda has to offer.

In Taxi Chaos 2, players won’t just have to navigate the dynamic city of San Valeda – they’ll also face tough competition from TaxiBot Corp’s self-driving cabs. These AI opponents will try to steal fares, obstruct your path, and even attack with armored vehicles! To succeed, you’ll need to think strategically, using rooftops, climbing, and hidden routes to your advantage. Those who finish the story mode can then jump into endless Arcade Mode, earn money, unlock upgrades, and compete for the top score.
If you like to unlock everything in a game, Taxi Chaos 2 offers lots of customization options, including new vehicles, visual upgrades, and 10 different taxis divided into three classes. You can build your taxi for different playstyles: focus on drifting for quick turns and agility, build a powerful tank to shove rivals aside, or prioritize speed and acceleration. With abilities ranging from offensive powers like Sonic Blast and Tesla Shock to helpful tools like Turbo Boost and Hacking Key, there’s plenty to discover in the city of San Valeda for fans of fast-paced driving. Taxi Chaos 2 is currently available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S, and will launch on PS5 and the Epic Games Store on January 13th.
