A gamer is attempting to defeat all the bosses in Hollow Knight: Silksong using only Hornet’s taunt ability. This self-imposed restriction makes an already challenging game even harder.
Okay, so Silksong finally dropped after all those years of waiting, and honestly, it’s been amazing! I’ve been totally hooked, and it looks like millions of others are too – over 7 million copies sold, plus tons of us are playing it through Game Pass. It even got nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards, which is huge! It didn’t win – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took that one – but Silksong is definitely one of the biggest games of the year. Now that so many of us are exploring Pharloom with Hornet, some seriously crazy challenges are popping up online, which is awesome to watch!
Hollow Knight: Silksong Player is Beating Every Boss By Only Taunting
A YouTuber named Bloblumord The 3rd recently created a unique and difficult challenge in the game Silksong. They’re attempting a “Garama%” run, where they defeat bosses using only the game’s Challenge ability. Interestingly, players can activate a small attack by pressing the right thumbstick (or ‘V’ key on keyboard) – it’s normally just a taunt, but it does a little damage. Bloblumord The 3rd is pushing this mechanic to its limits, and has already successfully beaten several bosses, including Trobbio in one of their recent videos.
The recent attempt highlighted just how tough this challenge is – it took over 20 minutes to beat the boss. Since players can only use one ability, memorizing the boss’s attack patterns is crucial. Bloblumord The 3rd teamed up with Shakra for a battle in the High Halls. The content creator also stated that it’s “impossible” to defeat the Maestros and their Cogflies by taunting them during the later stages. Though the entire challenge is incredibly difficult, the flying enemies in Silksong are especially troublesome.
It’ll be fun to watch Bloblumord The 3rd try to complete their difficult playthrough of Silksong. They’ve already defeated several of the game’s toughest bosses, and even showed off a surprising strategy by beating the final boss early in their series. No matter how long it takes, this challenge really highlights the player’s skill, as many people have had trouble with these bosses even when playing normally.
Team Cherry Will Add More Bosses to Silksong in Sea of Sorrow
Fans are already creating difficult challenges for the upcoming game Silksong, and the developers at Team Cherry are responding with new content. They recently announced a free expansion called Sea of Sorrow, scheduled for release in 2026, though details are currently limited. Team Cherry also confirmed that more bosses will be added to the game, giving players like Bloblumord The 3rd even more to overcome.
We still don’t know when the Silksong expansion, Sea of Sorrow, will come out next year. But considering Team Cherry’s track record, it will probably be worth the wait. Fans loved the challenging new bosses, like Nightmare King Grimm, that were added to the original Hollow Knight through its DLCs. It will be interesting to see what creative challenges players discover with the new bosses in Sea of Sorrow when it’s released.
