Fate Trigger: Novita Devs Talk Anime-Inspired World, Closed Alpha Plans

As a gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that I am genuinely intrigued by the upcoming title, “Fate Trigger: The Novita.” The blend of anime aesthetics and shooter gameplay has always been a captivating concept for me. With its richly designed world and tantalizing lore, this battle royale promises to offer an immersive gaming experience that I can’t wait to dive into.

In the upcoming anime-style shooter game, Fate Trigger: The Novita, players engage in colossal battles across a vibrantly designed world comprised of floating sky islands. Assuming the role of an Awakener, one of several heroes, you’ll explore the mysteries of a devastated world, dodge the harmful Paleblight phenomenon, enhance and personalize your weapons, and eliminate adversaries to emerge as the lone survivor in the battle royale-style gameplay. This unique blend of genres will captivate both anime enthusiasts and shooter fans when it releases in 2025.

Game Rant had a conversation with Ruby Liu, publishing manager of Fate Trigger: The Novita, and Terry Liao, the lead designer (through translation). They revealed details about the various characters in Fate Trigger’s world, their strategy to employ a multi-media approach to unveil the game’s intricate and enigmatic story gradually, and Saroasis Studios’ dedication to maintaining Fate Trigger as a free-to-play game without any pay-to-win aspects. For easier understanding, this transcript has been condensed and clarified.

Fate Trigger’s Awakeners Must Uncover The World’s Secrets

A: When designing the art style for Fate Trigger, what other anime series did you draw inspiration from?

B: Our producer, along with the entire team, are avid fans of anime – they particularly love action-packed games and Japanese animation. The majority of our inspiration is drawn from timeless anime masterpieces originating from Japan.

A: Are there numerous subtle clues pointing to the game’s backstory – such as the world being fragmented into islands and the catastrophic event known as the Paleblight? Can you discuss how this information will be presented to the players?

In terms of IP content like manga and trailers, we’ll primarily showcase these characters from beyond the game. Within the game, we’ll unveil the intriguing and captivating content to our players piece by piece. This way, players can concentrate on enjoying the gameplay, mastering the shooting mechanics, and becoming fully immersed in each round. However, when they’re not playing, they have the liberty to explore and delve deeper into a wealth of trailer content related to the game’s universe.

A: Will there be a diverse selection of heroes at Fate Trigger’s launch, and is it planned to introduce new heroes into the game in the future?

Absolutely, you can count on it! Initially, at the game’s release, we are planning to introduce approximately 20 characters. However, as time goes by and development continues, we intend to expand this roster with additional heroes.

A: Which character among those you presented caught my preference? It was the bunny-themed heroine, and I find her incredibly charming. Her defense-oriented playstyle particularly appeals to me. Could you share some insights about her?

It appears she resembles an average rabbit, but in the game “Fate Trigger,” she’s known as a “Starhopper.” Despite her shy and timid appearance, she has a compelling backstory. Once you discover it, you’ll realize she is more than just a bunny.

It’s evident that she has a strong bond and proficiency with her gaming device, as she skillfully constructs a pixelated fortress within it. Her past is deeply intertwined with this digital realm; she was born and resides in a virtual world, and she’s far more than just an ordinary bunny character!

In the future, expect to encounter heroic characters with forms reminiscent or identical to common animals from our world. Upon closer examination, however, their true nature transcends mere physical appearance. Given our anime aesthetic, there’s ample room for creative interpretation and exploration.
