Dam Battlegrounds is a favorite map in ARC Raiders, especially for players starting out. It showcases almost everything the game has to offer, giving newcomers a good feel for what to expect from ARC Raiders.
Dam Battlegrounds in ARC Raiders features a mix of open spaces and buildings, so it’s best to use weapons effective in both environments. Plus, the ARC enemies are relentless and demand an aggressive playstyle. To succeed when raiding, you’ll need a weapon that performs well in both player-versus-player (PVP) and player-versus-environment (PVE) combat. Here’s a ranking of the top weapons for scavenging in Dam Battlegrounds.
Il Toro
Weapons such as the Stitcher, Il Toro, and Vulcano are incredibly powerful at close range, capable of quickly eliminating opponents. Il Toro, in particular, discourages enemies from staying distant, rewarding players who aggressively close in for the attack.
The Dam Battlegrounds map features buildings that boost Il Toro’s effectiveness. It also has plenty of trees, rocks, and hills in its open spaces, making it easier to move around while using the Pump-action shotgun.
Vulcano
When players start a match in the Dam Battlegrounds of ARC Raiders, many immediately head for the Research and Administration building to fight. If you’re going there, or to the nearby Control Tower, it’s smart to bring a powerful close-range weapon like the Vulcano shotgun. This epic-rarity shotgun is great for clearing out enemies hiding inside those buildings and around their corners.
The Vulcano weapon becomes more powerful the more you upgrade it, with each improvement increasing its firing and reload speed. This makes it even more effective and highlights its strength in close-quarters battles.
Kettle
The Kettle is a standard assault rifle in ARC Raiders, making it an affordable choice for players building a low-cost loadout. While it performs well at longer distances, it’s especially effective in close-quarters combat.
The Kettle isn’t for every player, but it’s perfect for those with fast clicking skills. Unlike other weapons, it has no firing rate limit – you can shoot as fast as you can click. This makes it particularly powerful, as a skilled player can empty an entire magazine much faster than someone using a standard weapon.
Hullcracker
Dam Battlegrounds is where you’ll find most of the enemies in ARC Raiders. This makes it the ideal place to go when you’re trying to find a specific enemy, such as an ARC Leaper, ARC Rocketeer, or even a Queen. Using the Hullcracker in Dam Battlegrounds is particularly helpful, as it can quickly and effectively damage any ARC enemy you encounter.
Just so you know, the Hullcracker is designed for player-versus-environment content only. If you expect other players to attack, it’s best to also carry a weapon specifically for player-versus-player combat.
Ferro
The Ferro battle rifle is incredibly satisfying to use. It’s a long-range weapon with a powerful impact – a single hit often forces opponents to immediately seek cover. After landing a Ferro shot, it usually only takes a few more hits with another weapon to eliminate them. It’s also great for dealing with enemies who are holding down positions, as even one hit can leave them significantly damaged and needing to heal for a long time.
The Ferro rifle is powerful, but it has a couple of weaknesses: it only holds one bullet at a time and takes a while to reload. Fortunately, upgrading the standard Battle Rifle fixes the slow reload problem, making it a much more dependable weapon.
Stitcher
The Stitcher is a very affordable weapon, being a common item that only requires a small amount of Metal and Rubber Parts to build. Despite its low cost, it’s surprisingly effective in close-quarters fights. While the Bobcat SMG is a bit stronger, it’s much more expensive and requires upgrades like an Extended Light Mag to match the Stitcher’s performance. With the Stitcher, players can quickly get a powerful weapon – level 3 or 4 – without spending much at all.
Stitcher is best used in close-quarters combat, but Dam Battlegrounds often features fighting in open areas. It’s generally more effective to either be skilled at navigating with an SMG like Stitcher or to begin engagements with a longer-range weapon, such as Renegade.
Renegade
Okay, so the Renegade Battle Rifle is seriously powerful. I’ve been using it, and it’s amazing for locking down areas – basically, I can find a good corner and just control it. What’s really cool is I can also pick people off from pretty far away if they try to run across open ground. Especially on Dam Battlegrounds, with all the buildings you can get on the roofs of, the Renegade lets me completely shut down sections of the map and punish anyone who tries to push through. It’s a game-changer!
By level 4, the Renegade transforms into a dependable Battle Rifle capable of eliminating enemies quickly with just a few shots. Its large magazine, holding up to 20 bullets, means you can engage multiple opponents without constantly reloading.
Anvil
Anvil is a powerful unit that can quickly surprise opponents. Once an Anvil player lands the first attack – particularly a headshot – at level 4, it’s very difficult for enemies to respond.
On the Dam Battlegrounds map, the Anvil weapon performs exceptionally well against both enemy players and the AI-controlled ARCs, without any significant weaknesses. It consistently proves itself to be one of the best weapons in ARC Raiders in nearly every fight.
Tempest
The Tempest is a top-tier weapon in ARC Raiders. This incredibly powerful assault rifle excels at both close and long-range combat. Because it’s a rare item to fully upgrade, few players will have a level 4 Tempest, giving anyone who does a significant advantage over most opponents.
One of the biggest advantages of the Tempest on Dam Battlegrounds is that you can start a raid equipped only with the Assault Rifle – it’s effective against any enemy. Plus, it performs well even before you upgrade it to level 4, which isn’t true for many other weapons.
Venator
Despite being weakened, the Venator pistol is still incredibly powerful in ARC Raiders. A skilled player can potentially eliminate an entire team with it, even at level 4. Its greatest strength is its range and ability to quickly defeat enemies, no matter how far away they are.
The Dam Battlegrounds map features diverse combat scenarios, switching quickly between wide-open areas and narrow corridors. This environment particularly favors the Venator, as its players won’t be as hindered by the constant need to change weapons to adapt to different fighting ranges.
