As a hardcore esports enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, let me tell you that the past weekend was nothing short of electrifying! The RLCS 2024 and The International 2024 (T113) were truly a spectacle to behold. I’ve attended numerous tournaments in my life, but TI13 in Copenhagen has undoubtedly left an indelible mark.
Over the past weekend, there were significant esports events happening – RLCS 2024 and The International 2024 (T113) specifically. These tournaments featured top-tier teams from the Dota 2 esports community going head-to-head. Ultimately, who claimed the first-place title during this massive competition?
The International 2024: Who Won the Tournament?
Happening in Copenhagen, Denmark, The International 2024 (TI13) has secured a place in history as one of the wildest Dota 2 competitions ever held.
With a $2,602,164 prize pool, fans witnessed some of the most competitive Dota 2 play ever seen.
16 teams joined the Dota 2 tournament last year, each having qualified for it. In the end, only a single team managed to claim the top spot.
Which team emerged victorious at The International 2024 tournament? In the end, it was Team Liquid that took home the championship in the TI13 series, finally breaking their longstanding second-place jinx.

The International 2024 First-Place Winnings
Team Liquid not only claimed the first-place trophy but also pocketed a massive $1,170,965 as their winnings. This substantial sum represented a significant 45% of the total prize fund. The second-place team received $364,305. The enormous prize money was made possible due to Valve’s generous donation of its in-game purchase profits towards the prize pool.
In The International 2024 tournament, it was the Gaimin Gladiators who earned the runner-up spot. Notably, these same champions had previously taken first place at the Riyadh Masters and were also second runners-up the previous year. Despite their impressive performance this time around, there remains a tinge of disappointment in their second-place finish.
2025 could potentially mark Team Liquid’s triumphant first-place season, or there’s a chance they might narrowly miss the top spot once more. However, this year has shown us that they managed to outshine Gaimin Gladiators convincingly, securing a 3-0 victory and eliminating them from the competition.
