Dead By Daylight Spinoff Project T Cancelled Due To Poor Reception

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that the news of Project T‘s cancellation hit me like a ton of bricks (or maybe a stray bullet from a co-op shooter). The anticipation for this 1-4 player PvE co-op game had been building since its initial announcement.

The multiplayer cooperative shooter game, Project T, developed by Midwinter Entertainment and Behaviour Interactive, has been terminated. This news was shared on their social media platforms on Tuesday by the development team.

Based on Behaviour Interactive’s assessment following recent playtests, the overall results were found to be disappointing. Consequently, they decided to cease the game’s development straight away.

Initially, our team decided to bring players into the project at an early stage. This decision ultimately resulted in establishing our Early Access Program,” the studio explained.

We’ve managed to secure validation on Project T’s fundamental design and gameplay aspects at an unusually early stage in its development – something that typically happens later in the game production process. After the playtest conducted in July, we conducted a comprehensive internal assessment of potential risks from both product and commercial standpoints. Although many of you have shown appreciation for the gameplay experienced, the results of this detailed analysis unfortunately did not meet our expectations overall.

In conclusion, they expressed that the difficult decision was reached with great sadness, but also extended gratitude towards the players for their backing.

Regarding future plans for the studio and the team behind the game, it remains unclear at this point. With the announcement, no further information about other projects within the company was shared.

Players haven’t seen an update on Project T since May. There was little news about it until recently when they announced its termination.
