Red Dead Redemption PC Metadata Spotted in Launcher Update

Red Dead Redemption PC Metadata Spotted in Launcher Update

As someone who has spent countless hours galloping through the Wild West on my trusty steed, the news of potential Red Dead Redemption PC port excites me to no end! The teaser hints dropped by Rockstar and the reliable sources like Tez2 and Videotechuk_ are tantalizing, leaving us gamers thirsting for more.

According to a trusted news outlet Tez2, developers unintentionally included information related to Red Dead Redemption PC in the recent update of their launcher for GTA 5, which introduced an anti-cheat system. However, Rockstar quickly rectified this error, and now players can no longer find files pertaining to the original Red Dead Redemption PC version.

Tez2 has linked the SteamDB page for Red Dead Redemption’s PC port. In the update history section, players will see that developers provided three updates for the listing yesterday, and the changelog shows regular updates over the past few months. However, it hasn’t been confirmed as the official SteamDB page for Red Dead Redemption’s PC port.

By mistake, Rockstar unintentionally incorporated the metadata associated with Red Dead Redemption 1 (PC version) in today’s update of the launcher software.

In summary, Videotechuk serves as a trustworthy source for updates on Rockstar Games, and they’ve shared additional information regarding their launcher update. According to an X post, this update encompassed data for various games such as America’s, the Definitive Editions of GTA III, GTA IV, GTA San Andreas, GTA V, GTAV Gen 9, Vice City Definitive Edition, LA Noire, its VR version, Max Payne, Red Dead Redemption, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Notably, there are speculations that “Project Americas” could be the internal name for what is rumored to be GTA 6.

Red Dead Redemption, created by Rockstar Games, marks their debut into the vast Wild West landscape for a captivating adventure. Debuting on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010, it later found its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2023. Yet, despite its widespread acclaim as a standalone player experience, there hasn’t been a port for PC or the newer consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. With recent discoveries, fans are hopeful that Rockstar may soon make an official announcement about this anticipated release.
