The PlayStation 6 has 2 SoCs in Development, It’s Claimed

As a seasoned gaming enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but be intrigued by the latest rumors surrounding the PlayStation 6. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my years spent in the digital battlefield, it’s that two is always better than one, especially when we’re talking about System-on-a-Chip (SoC).

A reputable leaker has claimed that the PlayStation 6 currently has 2 SoCs (System-on-a-Chip) in development.

According to KeplerL2, who commented on the NEOgaf discussion boards regarding the potential price of PlayStation 6, Kepler – known for his accurate hardware chip reports – claims that there are two System-on-Chips (SoCs) being developed for the PS6 at present. However, it remains uncertain how this dual SoC development might impact the console itself.

According to Kepler, there are two Systems on Chip (SoC) being developed for the next generation. It’s unclear whether they will follow the Xbox Series X/S model or if one will be a home console and another handheld device, but it’s likely that one of them will be priced affordably.

There’s been talk that the next-gen Xbox might come in both a traditional console and a portable version, leading some to speculate that Sony may follow suit with their own handheld hardware. In recent years, the market for portable gaming has grown significantly, even for Sony with the success of the PlayStation Portable, despite it being an accessory for the PlayStation 5. Given this trend, it’s not unreasonable to think that Sony could be looking into creating a dedicated handheld console.

Currently, we’re unable to confirm the information according to our reporting standards because of the complexities involved in hardware development and the need for corroboration from various sources. However, since Kepler is known as a reliable source, his remarks are definitely worthy of attention.
