Hogwarts Legacy Fan Puts Moment from Books, Movies in Perspective

As a die-hard Harry Potter fan who has spent countless hours wandering the hallowed halls of Hogwarts, I must say that Hogwarts Legacy has truly brought J.K. Rowling’s magical world to life in an unprecedented way. The game offers an immersive experience, allowing us to step into the shoes of our favorite characters and explore the castle and its surroundings.

A player of Hogwarts Legacy has pointed out the distance Harry Potter had to run to reach Malfoy and Snape following Dumbledore’s death. This game offers players the chance to enroll at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and it provides a unique viewpoint on various events that occurred in the books.

In a phenomenal turn of events, Hogwarts Legacy shattered numerous sales records upon its debut, making it one of the top-performing games from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. This captivating title immerses players in the magical world of Hogwarts Castle and its environs, allowing them to assume roles as beloved characters from the series. The depiction of Harry Potter‘s Hogwarts Castle in this game differs slightly from the books, movies, and other games. Notably, the last two films made significant changes to the castle’s courtyard, the connecting wooden bridge, and The Great Hall to accommodate the final battle scenes. A dedicated player has chosen to demonstrate just how much ground Harry would have had to cover within Hogwarts Castle to catch Malfoy and Snape following Dumbledore’s demise.

As a fellow gamer, I just stumbled upon a cool clip posted by Reddit user LuffyisNOTreal, demonstrating an efficient route for Harry Potter to swiftly reach Hagrid’s Hut in the game Hogwarts Legacy. The video starts with my custom character atop the Astronomy Tower, then it’s a mad dash down spiral staircases and adjacent ones, followed by a sprint through a study room, more stairs, past Slytherin’s stained-glass window, crossing a bridge to Gryffindor Lower Hallway, scaling up to the Clock Tower, another bridge to the courtyard, traversing the viaduct, and sliding down the hill to Hagrid’s Hut at high speed. Even though this route is the quickest way to get there, the films depict the characters taking a lengthy detour through the Great Hall instead.

This Is How Far Harry Had to Chase Malfoy and Snape

In the novel “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Harry observes Professor Snape fatally attacking Albus Dumbledore, following which Dumbledore immobilizes Harry with a spell. During this instance, Malfoy was present alongside Snape in the Astronomy Tower while Harry was concealed under the Invisibility Cloak. Eager to challenge the pair, Harry pursued Malfoy and Snape across Hogwarts Castle, ultimately ending up at Hagrid’s Hut. Although the game “Hogwarts Legacy” includes a Floo network for swift travel, this character could have significantly reduced his time by employing it. However, even with this speed enhancement, it took Harry 40 seconds to catch up to Malfoy and Snape, demonstrating the great distance he had to cover in pursuit.

Even though there’s a possibility of another game like Hogwarts Legacy being made, it remains uncertain if the design of Hogwarts castle will be changed in any manner. Given that previous Harry Potter games have already portrayed the movie events, it seems likely that Hogwarts Legacy will persist with its focus on a time period before Harry Potter.
