Following the encounter with the Janitor, Six’s journey continues in Little Nightmares. Players will need to carefully move through a kitchen inhabited by two Chefs to collect everything and unlock all the achievements. Unlike the previous boss fight, you’ll meet the twin Chefs in chapter 3 and deal with them right away in Little Nightmares.
The Kitchen Walkthrough In Little Nightmares
Start the chapter by jumping to the hook and hanging on until you land on a bag of bodies.
Shortly after, Six’s hunger strikes again, and she needs to consume the trapped rat to keep going.
Proceed to the next room, where you have to push the cover of the bin to reach the higher one.
Drop to the floor and turn left to find a hidden hole in the ground.
Jump through it to reach a secret shrine where the first statue is found in chapter 3.
Scale the bars and pass through the doorway. Then, move the cart near the window and step through to enter a pantry.
To earn the Kitchen Hand trophy, players simply need to toss any three ingredients into the pot. If you’re just trying to advance the story, you can skip this step and ignore the ingredients.
Take a carrot and sneak slowly inside the next room where the Chef is cutting.
Carefully crawl under the table where he’s working and quietly move toward the small window on the opposite side of the room.
As soon as his back is turned, climb through the window and hurry to the pot boiling on the stove to toss in the carrot.
Dash under the counter on the left, near the ladle hanging above. The Chef will be checking out the noise any second now, so if you’re quick, you can toss the carrot without him noticing.
Then, gently close the oven door near where he is, so he’ll notice it while he’s cooking and look over.
As soon as he’s gone, quickly run under the table on the right and grab the fish head. Then, throw it into the pot.
Head to the two crates by the table in front of you and take cover. When the Chef walks up to the table, he’ll reach for spices and use them to season the fish. After that, he’ll return the spices and move to the left side of the kitchen for a short time.
Carefully climb over the crates and get the cheese, but be careful not to knock over the glass bottles – that will alert the Chef! If you do accidentally make a noise, quickly hide behind the crates and wait for him to leave.
Throw the cheese into the pot to get the Kitchen Hand Achievement in Little Nightmares.
Run to the stairs to the right quickly and climb the white cabinet. Turn on the first lantern.
Jump across the beams to the other side, then climb up the cages. You’ll land in a bathroom with two toilets, where you need to frighten away a small creature called a Nome.
Climb the toilets and jump to the left shelf to light a candle inside a shoe.
Drop to the floor and proceed left to pull an elevator lever for later.
Continue to the left until you find the bedroom where the other Chef is asleep. Climb onto the small table and grab the key hanging there. Gently swing back and forth to dislodge the key, which will wake up the Chef.
Get under the bed and stay hidden until he switches on the light and leaves. If you want to find a Nome, grab the key and leave it close to the elevator.
Head to the bathroom and hug the first Nome you scared away.
Keep the key with you and take the elevator down to the kitchen. You’ll see another Nome running to the left, heading for the pantry.
Go towards the shaking jar and break it by throwing it on the floor. Then, give the second Nome a hug. Immediately hide under the shelf, as the Chef will come running to check out the sound.
Once he’s gone, grab the key and sneak past the Chef to reach the door up the stairs and unlock it.
Climb onto the table using the cleaver and meat to reach the opening. Then, crawl under the table and give the third Nome a hug. After that, create a long enough sausage chain and jump to the small window to continue.
Turn left and take the small elevator up to the freezer. Then, pull the meat from the table and move it over to the trapdoor.
Okay, so here’s what you need to do: head for the window on the right and climb through. Once you’re in, find the second lantern and light it up. Then, over in the corner, there’s a statue – the second one you see – and you’ve gotta smash it. It’s a pretty straightforward sequence, visually clear and easy to follow.
First, climb the cabinet on the left. Then, use the hook to swing back and forth until you can reach the meat. Pull the meat down and push it over to the trapdoor. Finally, take the elevator down.
Get on top of the table and pull the lever to send the meat into the grinder. Then, turn the round handle to start the machine and make three sausages.
Jump and cling to the lowest sausage, then swing back and forth to reach the small window.
Subject Six is now in the large freezer. Continue ahead and jump to reach the lever, which will summon the elevator. Don’t wait for it, though. Go back to the previous room and hide in the box – a chef will be coming in to collect supplies.
As soon as you see him walk towards the dangling fish, make a run for the elevator. Quickly go to the small opening on the right and hide in the vent. Stay there until the Chef chases Six and unlocks the door on the left.
When I see him start grinding, I always duck under the tables and sneak into the next room – thankfully, there’s another grinder there waiting.
Push the button to signal the chef, then hurry over to the meat-cutting table.
Grab the key and use the elevator again to go lower and use the key on the locked door.
Hide in the small box to stop the Chef from catching you after he starts chasing Six.
Open the garbage chute and jump through.
Approach the left corner near the camera to see the third statue.
Head to the right and climb the wooden beams until you spot two Chefs washing dishes. Then, go up the first open drainpipe and turn left to climb onto the cabinet filled with pots.
Go to the other side, using the shelves to light the third lantern.
Okay, so I just dropped down and went back through those pipes – pretty claustrophobic, honestly. Then I went right and popped out of the second drain opening. That immediately got the Chefs’ attention, so I had to book it and quickly hide under the cabinet. Talk about a close call!
After they leave, move ahead and climb onto the table. Pull the lever to change the direction of the hooks. Then, quickly hide under the table, because a Chef will come to check things out.
Once he leaves, go back to where they were washing dishes. Hop onto the counter and climb up the stack of plates until you can grab onto one of the hooks.
The Chefs will try to catch Six while she’s moving and will get close when she nears the end.
Escape the first Chef by releasing the hook and quickly running past the second. Then, climb onto the container and grab another hook to swing away from both Chefs. Doing this finishes chapter 3 of Little Nightmares and unlocks the “The Kitchen” Achievement.
You’ll earn the Elusive Trophy if you’re chased by the Chefs and nearly caught six times during this chapter. If you didn’t get it in chapter 2, this is another chance to unlock it.
