Rocksteady Working On New Batman Game, It’s Claimed

As a die-hard fan of Rocksteady Studios and the Arkham series, hearing that they might be returning to Batman feels like Christmas came early! Their work on Batman: Arkham Knight was nothing short of legendary, and I can only imagine what they could do with a fresh take on the Caped Crusader.

Rocksteady Studios could be returning to the Batman franchise in a more traditional sense.

Based on information from Shpeshal Nick of Xbox Era, it appears that Rocksteady Studios is indeed developing a new Batman video game. Additionally, there are indications suggesting that Sony might be attempting to secure exclusive rights for this upcoming game.

He wasn’t clear about which studio fans were hoping for in the next Batman game, but he mentioned that Rocksteady is reportedly working on it. He added humorously, ‘I believe Sony is trying to milk it financially,'” he said in response to a tweet asking fans about their dream developers for the next Batman game.

As an avid fan, I’m eagerly awaiting any news about a potential new Batman game from Rocksteady Studios. The big question on everyone’s mind is whether this new game will follow the format of previous Batman titles, focusing on a single-player experience, or if they’ll switch things up and venture into the live-service realm due to their parent company, Warner Bros. Games, being committed to continuing these types of projects.

Rocksteady Studios hasn’t developed a standalone Batman game since they completed the original Arkham trilogy with Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015. After that, they focused on projects like Arkham VR for both PC and PS4 (released in 2016) and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which was released in 2023 and received generally unfavorable reviews.
