In Heartopia, you’ll meet lots of friendly villagers. It’s fun to chat with them, but you can also invite your real-life friends to join your game and play together!
Playing Heartopia with friends – whether you’re on a call or in the same room – is a lot of fun! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to play with others, including how to add friends, start a game together, and even become besties!
How to Add Friends in Heartopia

In Heartopia, you need a friend’s unique D.G. Member UID to add them – it’s like a direct link to their profile. You can find your own UID in the bottom left corner of the game screen, or by checking your portrait in the Smartwatch menu.
After getting their friend’s D.G. Member UID, players can find the “magnifying glass” icon at the bottom left of the Friendship Journal app and enter the UID there.
How to Become Best Friends in Heartopia
Players earn Friendship Marks by interacting with each other. The more marks they collect, the closer their Friendship Level becomes. Eventually, they’ll become Best Friends!
To begin building friendships in Heartopia, players need to visit Annie in Central Square and purchase items from her Friendshop Store.
How to Play with Friends in Heartopia

After adding a friend in Heartopia, you can find them listed in the Friends tab of your Friendship Notebook. To play with a friend, select them from your friends list when they’re online and choose the “Visit” option. This will place you and your friend on the same public server, where you’ll both see up to 10 other players in your neighborhood.
Users can communicate using the Chat tool located in the bottom left corner. They can also express themselves with emoticons and emotes by clicking the smiley face icon on the right side of the screen.
Instead of visiting a friend’s town, players can build and manage their own. You can access the Town menu from the main screen by selecting the windmill icon. When you create a town in Heartopia, it opens a private server that stays active for between one and twenty-four hours.
Players can keep their town private by paying 5 Moonlight Crystals every hour. After the first day, the cost switches to Heart Diamonds. This hourly cost resets each week.
