Treyarch Reveals Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Updates Following Beta Feedback

As a dedicated gamer with countless hours spent honing my skills and immersing myself in the world of Call of Duty, I am beyond excited for the upcoming release of Black Ops 6! The beta was just a taste of what’s to come, and Treyarch has been listening to our feedback like never before. The improvements they plan on making to maps, spawns, performance, weapons, movement, and more are music to my ears.

Activision and Treyarch carefully considered player feedback throughout the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta, making notes on improvements to maps, spawn points, performance, weapons, movement, and other aspects as they prepare for the game’s release. Here’s a summary of what they plan to address and enhance based on feedback from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta!

For the upcoming launch next month, Treyarch’s recent blog shares their plans for enhancing the main multiplayer aspect to cater better to competitive gamers.

Maps

As a gamer, you might’ve observed that during the multiplayer beta, we had just a few compact maps, leading to rather hectic matches. However, in the official release, most of the maps are going to be medium-sized, offering a more balanced gaming experience. These maps will include:

  • Vault
  • Protocol
  • Lowtown
  • Red Card
  • Vorkuta
  • Subsonic
  • Payback
  • Warhead

Spawns

After devoting numerous hours to each multiplayer beta session, one major issue we highlighted was the unpredictable and close spawn points. Treyarch acknowledged this concern, stating that a primary purpose of the beta was to investigate and gather information about the spawn system. This data collection allowed them to identify areas for improvement within the spawn logic. Consequently, they made adjustments to enhance the system’s performance.

Game Performance

The main purpose of a beta test is to identify and resolve software bugs and performance problems. In the case of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, there were several issues uncovered during the beta, which Treyarch successfully tracked down and addressed. These problems ranged from script errors, user interface malfunctions, asset streaming glitches, and “stuttering” (hitching), all of which were rectified prior to launch day.

Weapons

Concerning the game’s powerful weapons that made an impression during the initial beta testing, Treyarch is making some crucial adjustments.

  • Headshot damage is significantly improving, with location multipliers playing a pivotal role in time to kill.
  • Bullet penetration will improve before release, reducing the damage bullets deal after passing through surfaces.
  • Improvements to sniper DS
  • Better fluidity when swapping weapons
  • Reduced weapon motion during crouch animations
  • Target adjustments to shotguns and SMGs.

Movement

In the promotion for Black Ops 6’s multiplayer mode, Activision and Treyarch emphasized the overhauled movement system as a key feature. Upon playing, the movement seemed smooth and fast-paced, but it fell short of expectations. Before the release, they plan to make some adjustments to improve it further.

  • Animation fluidity and fidelity
  • Adjustments to slide mechanics
  • Intelligent Movement updates

Other Notable Changes to Black Ops 6 Multiplayer

Besides making substantial improvements to these critical aspects before release, Treyarch also plans to refine the core experience in other ways!

  • Shortened time in the Winner’s Circle
  • Kill Counter added to the HUD
  • Reducing camera motion while sprinting and sliding
  • Improvements to the Kill Order game mode
  • Equipment and Perk tweaks

Regarding significant forthcoming launches, I heard Ubisoft has decided against hosting press previews for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. Feel free to join the discussion about Shadows or Black Ops 6 on the TopMob forums!
