The latest update for ARC Raiders, version 1.11.0, will make the Stella Montis area more challenging. Lighting has been reduced in several spots, increasing the difficulty.
Embark Studios has some exciting news for ARC Raiders players! The game has sold over 12 million copies, and as a thank you, they’re giving players a free gift. A new update is also rolling out, which includes adjustments to some items and changes to the map designed to improve player-versus-player combat.
What’s New in ARC Raiders Update 1.11.0? Stella Montis Lighting Change, Kettle and Trigger Nade Nerfs
The latest update to ARC Raiders (version 1.11.0) includes a change to the Stella Montis Night Raid map. Stella Montis was already known for its intense player-versus-player combat and dark environment. Now, some areas have even less lighting, making flashlights and careful listening even more important for players. This change is expected to encourage more stealthy gameplay, like hiding in the shadows and surprising enemies.
So, they’ve made a few changes in the latest update. I noticed the Kettle’s fire rate is slower now – they said the old rate was really only achievable with those auto-fire programs, which isn’t fair. They also toned down the Trigger ‘Nade. It was just too good in player-versus-player fights and everyone was using it instead of the other grenades. They’ve made it harder to throw in the air like before, but it’ll still work as a sticky bomb. Finally, they fixed that annoying bug where you could hold onto room keys even after you’d used them – good riddance!
Complete ARC Raiders Update 1.11.0 Patch Notes
- Kettle
- Dev note: Reduced fire rate from 600 to 450. The previous fire rate was only realistically reachable by players using macros, which creates an unfair dynamic that favours using 3rd party software.
- Trigger ‘Nade
- Dev note: Trigger ‘Nade currently dominates PVP encounters, and players favour picking it over all our other grenades. This nerf aims to make it less usable as a “trigger-in-air” grenade, whilst keeping its usefulness as a sticky bomb. Damage falloff has been rebalanced to concentrate the damage closer to the center of the explosion, and deal less damage further away. The delay between triggering the grenade and it detonating, has been increased from 0.7s to 1.5s, giving players more time to react, and making it harder to time the detonation in air.
- Fixed a key card exploit that allowed players to keep room keys after using them.
- Lighting has been lowered in some areas on Stella Montis Night Raid making flashlights and listening more relevant.
