Embark Studios has just released a new update for its popular game, ARC Raiders. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the update includes several bug fixes and adjustments to balance weapons and items. Players who’ve been waiting for it will be glad to know that update 1.11.0 reduces the power of the Trigger Nade, a weapon that had become particularly strong in player-versus-player combat over the holidays.
I’ve been so excited for this update, not just for the gameplay tweaks, but because they finally released that awesome skin from the ARC Raiders teasers! It’s part of the new Abyss cosmetic set, and you can grab the whole bundle for 1,600 Raider Tokens. It includes the skin – you might remember it from a trailer before ARC Raiders even came out – plus a new emote and a bunch of other cool stuff. We’ve been waiting almost three months for it, and it’s finally here with update 1.11.0 on all platforms! I immediately checked the in-game store when the update dropped.
ARC Raiders Has Finally Nerfed The Trigger Nade
The newest update for ARC Raiders includes a popular new cosmetic set and significant gameplay changes. Embark Studios has adjusted weapon damage so that explosions are more effective at their center and less so further away. They’ve also increased the delay before grenades explode, from 0.7 to 1.5 seconds, giving players more time to react. This change aims to reduce the grenade’s effectiveness when thrown and detonated mid-air, encouraging players to use it as originally intended.
A recent update to ARC Raiders includes a change to the popular Kettle weapon. Players were using software to fire the Kettle much faster than intended, giving them an unfair advantage and overwhelming other players. In response to community feedback, the developers at Embark have lowered the weapon’s fire rate from 600 to 450. They explain that the original fire rate was only possible with these external programs, creating an uneven playing field.
Despite being a very common weapon, the Stitcher remains surprisingly effective – some players believe it’s even better than rarer weapons like the Bobcat. Although the developers at Embark mentioned looking into balancing the Stitcher in ARC Raiders, it hasn’t received any changes in the latest update. Players are also frustrated with the small number of bug fixes in patch 1.11.0, as problems like falling out of the map on Stella Montis, broken voice chat, and the issue where purchases are reset still haven’t been addressed.
The recent update concluded the Cold Snap and Flickering Flames event, which began last month in the December 2025 update. This event introduced the Cold Snap modifier, blanketing the map in snow and requiring players to find shelter to avoid harsh weather damage. While unconfirmed by Embark Studios, there’s talk of a new Toxic Swamp modifier coming in an update next week.

We’re thrilled to announce that ARC Raiders has sold over 12 million copies! Thanks to an incredible holiday season, you all surpassed our 10 million player goal – which is fantastic! - Kettle
-
- Dev note: Reduced fire rate from 600 to 450. The previous fire rate was only realistically reachable by players using macros, which creates an unfair dynamic that favours using 3rd party software.
- Trigger ‘Nade
-
- Dev note: Trigger ‘Nade currently dominates PVP encounters, and players favour picking it over all our other grenades. This nerf aims to make it less usable as a “trigger-in-air” grenade, whilst keeping its usefulness as a sticky bomb. Damage falloff has been rebalanced to concentrate the damage closer to the center of the explosion, and deal less damage further away. The delay between triggering the grenade and it detonating, has been increased from 0.7s to 1.5s, giving players more time to react, and making it harder to time the detonation in air.
- Fixed a key card exploit that allowed players to keep room keys after using them.
- Lighting has been lowered in some areas on Stella Montis Night Raid making flashlights and listening more relevant.
