How to Use LEMs in StarRupture

Okay, so this game is HUGE, that much is clear. If you’re like me and new to it, getting everything set up can be a little confusing at first, honestly. It takes some figuring out!

The tutorial is helpful at first, but you’ll quickly need to figure things out on your own while trying to survive on a dangerous, meteor-strewn planet.

The Meteors – often called the Rupture – are central to everything this planet has to offer. So, get your helmet and flashlight ready, because it’s time to explore! Just be careful not to get burned!

Breaking the Vines

Exploring this ruined world, you might find a thick tangle of vines hiding a cave. You may have even tried to clear them – shooting at them, jumping on them – but probably without success, just like I did.

To explore the caves and see what’s inside, you’ll need to wait for the Rupture to happen first.

Okay, so the explosion will clear away all the vines that are growing over the caves, which is awesome! But honestly, I know it won’t last. This planet is covered in plants, and those vines always grow back, so it’s only a matter of time before the Underground Caves are hidden again.

Once you receive the rupture warning, head to a few nearby cave spots and quickly build a small tower and a base. After the rupture ends, tear down those structures and explore as many caves as you can to collect resources.

Underground Cave Loot

Quartz Ore

When you explore these caves, you’ll first notice the large, glowing quartz formations hanging from the rocks. They give off a bright blue light, but you might need to duck and crawl through some narrow passages to get to them. Here’s what you can make with quartz:

  • Quartz Building Material

Glowcap

You’ll soon find Glowcap plants growing around – there are usually more of these than quartz. Luckily, they’re a really valuable resource!

These plants are incredibly helpful for survival! They restore 50 health points, provide 20 calories, and boost your hydration by 30. Best of all, they don’t increase your toxicity, making them a safe and reliable source of nourishment.

If you suddenly need an energy boost, quickly grab a couple of these while you’re on the move and keep going.

The Glowcaps can be used in the following recipes:

  • Drain Red Plasm
  • Termo Res Plasm
  • Infection Res Plasm
  • Corrosion Res Plasm

Eating these foods provides double resistance to their specific element for 10 minutes, but they also cause 40 toxicity.

Dead Bodies

If you spot a body on the map close to the cave, it’s likely located somewhere underneath it.

You can find useful items on these bodies, ranging from food and supplies to machine parts. These parts can be traded for valuable data, so it’s always a good idea to search them!

Leaving the Cave

Escaping is easy: just run to the long, hanging white vines and climb back out. If you get trapped inside, shoot the big, glowing red orb, and the vines will pull back temporarily.
