In the game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows“, the combat becomes more layered as players have the ability to cause several debilitating conditions on opponents. Some weapons naturally accumulate affliction as an attribute, subtly applying these status effects over time. Mastering the knowledge of these afflictions and their functioning can significantly tip the balance in your favor, even when confronted by a stronger adversary within the game.
The Bleed Affliction (Status Effect)

As a passionate gamer, I’ve discovered an exciting mechanic in this game – the Bleed affliction. When I attack an enemy with a weapon that has a bleed buildup stat, a blood drop symbol appears atop their head. Once the bar fills up completely, they are fully under the bleed status effect. This advantageous situation enables us, the players, to inflict extra damage on our enemies, sometimes even defeating them with just one or two more attacks, considering the quality of our equipment and their level.
Once the bleeding effect fades, you need to continue attacking the enemy to reapply it. This is an effective affliction for combating tough bosses or powerful enemies with large health pools.
The Poison Affliction (Status Effect)

When you attack an enemy using a weapon that accumulates poison, a white skull symbol within a purple circle will appear on their head, indicating they are being affected by poison. Once fully afflicted, the enemy will sustain periodic, lighter damage over time.
Apart from inflicting harm, enemies afflicted with poison might also retch and have their offensive actions temporarily halted during battle.
The Daze Affliction (Status Effect)

In this scenario, when an opponent is struck with a weapon that accumulates daze, a star icon appears above their head. Once the daze buildup is fully charged, it predominantly induces disorientation in the enemy. This means they may miss their own attacks and will struggle to evade or counter your assaults. It’s advantageous to have this debilitating effect as part of your combat strategy when dealing with numerous adversaries.
The Knock-Out Affliction (Status Effect)
In the game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” instead of using weapons to inflict a debilitating condition, Yasuke utilizes his special grab and knock-out technique, also known as some naginata abilities, to render enemies unconscious. Once an enemy is knocked out, they remain incapacitated for either a short or prolonged duration. During this period, players have the opportunity to deliver multiple attacks on the unconscious foe.
