How to Discover New Symptoms in Quarantine Zone (Laboratory Guide)

In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, players must not only check survivors for known infection symptoms, but also watch for new ones as the game progresses and the disease changes. If a new symptom appears, players can use the in-game laboratory to scientifically confirm whether it’s real.

How To Detect New Symptoms In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

When checking the health of new survivors, players should regularly watch for any emerging symptoms.

You might notice new things, like a skin rash, but it won’t be included in the list of symptoms. Or, if you use a stethoscope, you could hear a strange new sound, perhaps a low growl similar to a lion’s roar.

What To Do When You Spot A New Symptom

If a survivor shows a new symptom, send them directly to the Laboratory for analysis, rather than to Quarantine or Liquidation. You can accompany them right away or wait until the end of the day after you’ve finished all other checks.

Please understand that this procedure in the Laboratory will result in this person’s death; they won’t survive it.

If several people show potential new symptoms, keep them in quarantine for now. The lab can only test one person at a time.

How To Use The Laboratory In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

Once you’ve sent a survivor to the lab, you’ll find them inside a round glass cage. Then, go to the computer to begin the organ extraction process.

Extracting Organs

Okay, so the goal here is to grab a specific organ – they’ll show you what shape it is in a box on screen. It’ll be highlighted in green, and I just need to hold down the E key (or X on a PlayStation, or Square if I’m on Nintendo) to actually grab it.

Sometimes, other organs will be in the way, blocking your access to the target. You can use the laser by holding down the left mouse button (or the right trigger on a controller) to destroy these organs, but only if they are glowing yellow.

Please be cautious! Any organs shown in red must not be damaged. Destroying them twice will cause the experiment to fail.

Players can move around the target using either the WASD keys on their keyboard or the left stick on their controller, and they can also move vertically – up and down.

Analyzing Organs

Once you’ve removed an organ, grab it using the left mouse button (on PC), the right trigger (on Xbox), or R2 (on PlayStation) from the box behind it, and place it into the Sample Creator. Then, click to start the process.

This creates a test tube that you can pick up and then place into the analyzer. Click to start the analysis.

New Symptom Found Or Not

Here’s how new symptoms work: If the survivor develops something new that wasn’t noticed before, a message will appear explaining it. This new symptom will then be recorded on their health chart and will be checked for in the future.

If not, that poor survivor died for nothing.

Every symptom you discover is linked to a chain of three: a green one, an orange one, and a red one. If you find all three in a chain, you’ll earn extra Research Points.

Bonus

You can earn extra Role-Playing points by quickly and accurately completing the organ extraction step. However, don’t worry about speed on your first few attempts – trying to rush could lead to mistakes and prevent you from discovering new symptoms.
