StarRupture is full of resources you’ll need to survive the swarms of alien creatures. Common materials like Helium, Calcium, and Wolfsbane Ore are easy to find on the surface, but some resources are hidden and require more searching.
Okay, so I just discovered this thing called Ignitium, and it’s seriously cool, but super rare! It only shows up on the planet at a certain time, and if you miss your chance to get it, it vanishes. It’s a bit of a hidden treasure, honestly – I hadn’t even heard of it until now!
Let’s break down how to get your hands on some Ignitium and what it is used for in StarRupture.
How to Find Ignitium in StarRupture

Ignitium isn’t like other resources such as Calcium – you won’t find it lying on the planet’s surface. It only appears under specific conditions, and that condition is a heatwave.
In StarRupture, the planet regularly renews itself by burning everything on its surface. After this fiery cleansing, it enters a dormant cooling phase, and it’s during this time that Ignitium emerges.
Brace yourself – the planet is about to burst into flames, so head to your shelter immediately. The fire will only last a short while, but going outside during that time will be deadly.
Once the planet cools down enough to venture out, you’ll notice glowing rocks all over the landscape. These are called Ignitium, and they’re easy to find even with the hazy atmosphere left over from the recent heatwave.
To get the Ignitium, head over to those rocks and use your mining tool on the glowing meteorites. You’ll need to be quick, though – the planet cools down fast, and the Ignitium won’t last long.
Okay, so this is a really nice break! It seems like you don’t have to stress about enemies right now, which is great if you’re a little underprepared. I’m hearing that those annoying little creatures, the vermin, don’t even show up during this part of the planet’s cycle, so you can explore without constantly looking over your shoulder. It’s a relief to just move around freely for once!
These glowing meteorites only drop one or two Ignitium each time you mine them, and it’s the only way to get this material – you won’t find any Ignitium veins anywhere else on the map.
What is Ignitium Used For?
In StarRupture, Ignitium is solely used for analysis. If you select it in your inventory, the description will tell you it’s used at the Analysis Station within your base.

Ignitium is only useful for earning points at the Analysis Station, so there’s no need to save it for later.
Don’t hold onto the Ignitium! Send it to the Analysis Station to earn points, which you can then use to improve your standing with the different corporations. It’s best to save up a bit before spending, since each Ignitium piece is worth 70 points. You should be able to collect around 10 Ignitium per cycle, giving you a bonus of 700 points.
