As a seasoned gamer with countless hours under my belt in survival and strategy games, I can confidently say that Frostpunk 2 has truly captured my attention. The frozen wasteland of this post-apocalyptic world is not only visually stunning but also challenging, forcing me to make tough decisions for the survival of my people.

In the chilling world of Frostpunk 2, I assemble my teams primarily from the Logistics Districts. These strategic hubs are where we launch scouting missions into the Frostlands and manage resource transportation between our city and its outposts.

It turns out that Logistics Districts can exclusively be established on Old Waystations. You’ll find these waystations situated at the boundaries of your territory, so it’s necessary for you to Frostbreak and traverse there prior to commencing construction.

Initially, constructing a Logistics District gives you ten Frostland Teams, enabling you to begin exploring surrounding regions. As your city expands and your requirements increase, additional Logistics Districts must be built to recruit more teams. Furthermore, you can upgrade your Logistics Districts, providing an extra 15 Frostland Teams per district.

In an enlarged Logistics District, there are spaces for constructing two buildings known as Logistics Centers. Each of these centers could potentially boost your workforce by up to 15 teams from the Frostland region. With two such centers in the expanded district, you can expect a total of 45 additional teams from the Frostland region.

There are two types of Logistics Bays you can build in Frostpunk 2:

Automated Bay

The Automated Manufacturing Hubs reduce human labor to 500 by utilizing machines for equipment production. They operate more efficiently, needing minimal storage, and they also create approximately 15 extra teams within Frostland.

Vanguard Bay

Conversely, Vanguard Bays specializes in survival equipment and instruction. They require a workforce of approximately 600 individuals, and their operations can accommodate up to 20 Frostland Team deployments at maximum capacity.

Alternatively, you can reduce Exploration Costs to minimize the number of Frostland Teams needed for exploration. Doing so frees up some Frostland Teams, so you can send them away to other areas for scouting. This is possible through a couple of research projects:

  • Scout’s Headquarters: The Survivalist Headquarters significantly lowers exploration costs and time, meaning you’ll need fewer Frostland Teams for your missions.
  • Scout Training: The Pathfinder Scouts can also reduce the required number of Frostland Teams per expedition. They further decrease the territory threat level, ultimately reducing the chances of Frostland Teams getting lost or harmed.
