How to Craft Rope in Hytale

In Hytale, rope is incredibly useful for explorers. When venturing into the caves of Orbis, you’ll need a way to navigate between different levels, and while building with blocks works, rope makes it much easier for your whole team. If you’re wondering how to craft rope in Hytale, here’s a simple guide.

How to Craft Rope in Hytale

Currently, Rope is made exclusively at the Builder’s Workbench – the same place you craft all building items. You’ll need to collect Plant Fiber by cutting down things like tall grass, bushes, and shrubs. Each piece of Plant Fiber you gather creates one unit of Rope.

Rope in Hytale works similarly to ladders, making it great for playing with friends. You can climb up and down a rope line, and you can connect multiple pieces to make it as long as you need. However, placing rope can be a little tricky. You can’t place rope directly on top of existing rope, and to create a long descent into a lower area, you need to start the rope line along a wall. The wall will serve as a starting point for the next section of rope.

Navigating deep underground areas can be tricky. Players will have to carefully and strategically place Rope as they climb down, and sometimes ladders are a better option, especially when trying to reach higher ground.

Diagonal Ropes

You can build Diagonal Ropes instead of regular vertical ones, but they’re much harder to connect. They don’t easily snap together and don’t grip like ladders. Basically, Diagonal Ropes are best used for looks, so don’t rely on them for climbing or getting around.

Traversal Tip

Currently, in the early access version of Hytale, Rope is most useful for getting to high-up areas, like ores located on tall walls or ceilings. But if something is too high to reach with Rope, ladders are a better choice because you can stack them on top of each other.

Just like in Minecraft, you can create a water elevator in Hytale to quickly descend into deep holes. Simply pour a bucket of water down the hole to form a temporary tunnel you can swim through. This is also a helpful way to protect yourself from lava while mining for resources like Cindercloth underground.

You can also use the charged attacks of the Dual Daggers to jump really far. If you don’t want to use the Rope to climb up high places, this is a good alternative.
