Beyond Galaxyland: How To Solve The Mystic Woods Puzzle On Crystalis

As a seasoned interstellar adventurer with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that Beyond Galaxyland has captured my heart and my spaceship’s navigation system! The Mystic Woods of Crystalis have been calling to me since I first laid eyes on it from the cockpit of my trusty ship.

Congratulations! After a successful launch, you’re now error-free and venturing out from DreamCore’s “our home is Earth” universe, ready to discover other planets in the expansive realm known as Beyond Galaxyland. Farewell, our natural habitat for humans!

Here are three destinations open for your exploration: the forested planet Crystalis, the icy Arcos, and Neo, the capital city-planet of DreamCore. However, Juno, a volcanic planet, is also on the map, but at this point, it might be too challenging for you.

Don’t go to Juno.

Upon landing in Crystalis, you’ll find yourself surrounded by lush vegetation and a peculiar tree that teleports you to various locations. Fear not, we’re here to guide you through the woods and lead you to the township of Moonfall.

Immediately following obtaining your spaceship, consider paying a visit to Crystalis. After exploring Neo, however, you’ll find that you can no longer discover the other planets in Galaxyland until you’ve advanced further in the main storyline.

Entering the Mystic Woods

After finishing both the “Water Temple” quest and the relatively simple “Finally Moving” quest on Erros, you’ll be free to visit Crystalis at any time thereafter. Once Meela, your engineer and pilot, activates your spaceship, the choice of your next destination will be yours.

Glide your spacecraft towards the violet Crystalis and touch down. You’ll find yourself right in the heart of the Mystic Forest, where the adventure called “The Hidden Village” will commence without any need for a manual start.

The Mystic Woods Puzzle

That’s odd … isn’t there supposed to be a knight statue here?

Reaching this place is straightforward, however, traversing the forest could prove quite challenging. To the west of the main open area, you’ll come across a distinctive white tree adorned with three blue fruits that resemble apples.

As I draw near the towering tree, it feels like a magical portal. Suddenly, I find myself in a secluded part of the forest, surrounded by two clear paths – one leading off to my left, and another beckoning me to explore to the right.

To pay tribute to one of the Nintendo 64’s legendary games, you must move between identical chambers in order to traverse the labyrinth.

Fortunately, the map has been sitting in front of you the whole time.

The tree’s branches indicate the paths leading to various parts of the labyrinth, while the blue apples mark significant spots within it.

Every time you solve a branch in the warping tree’s puzzle, you’ll encounter a white symbol. Step closer, and if your path was wrong, you’ll be transported to the Save Point near the knight’s statue.

While you’re out exploring Crystalis for the first time, don’t forget to capture some photos of Brutus. You might even get shots of a Pixi, a Killer Wasp, and a Dozetoad – one of my favorite summon creatures! Enjoy your journey!

To finish this mission, you should navigate towards the topmost blue apple that stands out. The path is quite straightforward: first go left, then right, followed by another left, and finally a right again. If done accurately, you’ll arrive at a small orchard with a glyph resembling the others.

This time around, you’ll be transported to Moonfall, the residence of the Pixis on Crystalis. Unfortunately, your arrival happens to coincide with a rather foreboding incident… Watch as the scene unfolds, and uncover what endangers the Pixi community!

Treasure In The Forest

You might notice that the peculiar tree with the warp now sports extra blue fruits! Each apple on the left and right side hints at a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered by you.

Every time you uncover one of the tree’s paths, the blue apple vanishes. Keep an eye out for two useful items: a “Green Ring” and a “Start-Up Boost.” Similar to Badges in the Mario series, having these artifacts equipped can provide you with a significant advantage.

In the course of your gameplay, you might find both of these items quite handy once you get a “Red Apple“. Place it on the warping tree, and it will reveal a fresh location that houses a “secret boss you can capture“!
