Today sees a fresh turn for the well-known meme-based Shiba Inu (SHIB) cryptocurrency. As per Shibariumscan’s data, the total accumulated BONE tokens from transaction fees on the Shibarium network has skyrocketed by an impressive 2,190% over the past 24 hours.
Over a year ago, a group passionate about Shiba Inus initiated the launch of a decentralized blockchain known as Shibarium. This is a layer-2 solution, which operates above the Ethereum Virtual Machine. The BONE token, an integral part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, serves as the payment for gas transactions within this system.
Absolutely, SHIB tokens are positively impacted by the functioning of Shibarium. In this system, a portion of BONE accrued from transaction fees is transformed into SHIB and subsequently destroyed. This process effectively triggers a reduction in the supply of the initial Shiba Inu coin on the network.
During a period of heightened network activity, there was a rise in collected commissions. More specifically, within a 24-hour span, Shibarium experienced a boost in daily transactions from 6,209 to 8,025.
As network activity rose, so did the gas fees on the network. Consequently, the number of BONE tokens gathered in a single day jumped significantly, rising from 20.01 BONE to an impressive 438.79 BONE.
The Shibarium’s current surge in activity – is it a temporary spike or the start of a long-term increase that the Shiba Inu and broader blockchain community needs to determine in the near future.
Prior to now, around a year back, there was an increase in Shiba Inu network’s activity that was quite apparent. The daily transaction count unexpectedly exceeded millions and sustained this high level for several consecutive months.
