Black Myth: Wukong Sold 20 Million Units in Its First Month

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say, the news about Black Myth Wukong is nothing short of phenomenal! With its impressive sales figures and positive reviews, it’s clear that this game has struck a chord with gamers worldwide.

In its inaugural month, it’s clear that Black Myth Wukong managed a staggering 20 million sales on both the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.

According to Ken Kutaragi, speaking at the Tokyo Game Show (as reported by Dean Takahashi), a presentation slide showed that Black Myth: Wukong sold an astounding 10 million copies within its first three days and 20 million copies in just one month. Furthermore, the game simultaneously hosted over three million players across all platforms at once.

It’s worth noting that approximately 2.4 million of the total 3 million simultaneous players (the peak) were playing on PC, which suggests that around 600,000 players were using PlayStation 5. This implies that, based on these figures, at least for concurrent player numbers, a significant majority – about 80% – of Black Myth: Wukong’s player base was playing on PC rather than PS5.

20 million copies sold within a month places Black Myth: Wukong among the quickest video games to achieve significant sales success, ranking it high among top-selling titles thus far.

Based on feedback collected by Metacritic, the video game has predominantly positive reviews from both PC and PlayStation 5 gamers, earning a rating of 81 out of 100 on PC platforms and 75 out of 100 on PlayStation 5.

Based on reports from analyst Daniel Camilo, it’s anticipated that Downloadable Content (DLC) for the game “Black Myth: Wukong” might be launched around the time of the upcoming Chinese New Year.
