How to Destroy Items in Hytale

In Hytale, players quickly find themselves with a lot of unwanted items – old weapons, worn-out armor, and broken tools – and there’s currently no simple way to get rid of them by destroying or deleting them.

If you’re playing Hytale and need to get rid of unwanted items, you have several options. This guide explains all the ways to destroy or delete items in the game.

There are three ways to delete items in Hytale:

Throw items away in the overworld.
Use a Salvager’s Workbench.
Use the Trash Can Mod.

Throwing Items Away

In Hytale, if you leave an item on the ground and don’t retrieve it, it will eventually vanish after a period of time. This means you can easily get rid of unwanted items or broken tools by simply dropping them anywhere, without needing to worry about them later.

Our tests show that items in the main world (the Overworld) disappear after about 8 to 10 minutes. This applies to things like dropped ore too – if you break an ore block and leave the dropped item on the ground for 10 minutes without picking it up, it will vanish.

Using a Salvager’s Workbench

If you have a crafted tool, weapon, or piece of armor you don’t need anymore, you can break it down into its basic materials using the Salvager’s Workbench. This will return some of the materials you originally used to craft it. Keep in mind that the Salvager’s Workbench won’t work on raw materials – only items you’ve made yourself.

Okay, so I figured out a really useful thing in the game. If I take a busted, old Crude Pickaxe to the Salvager’s Workbench, it breaks it down and gives me Rubble, Plant Fiber, and Sticks. Honestly, it’s the perfect way to get rid of all that junk gear I’m constantly finding and not just let it clutter up my inventory!

Use the Trash Can Mod

If you enjoy using mods in Hytale, the Simply Trash mod by Jaredlll08 is a great addition. It adds a Trash Can block that lets you quickly and easily get rid of any items you don’t need – it’s the simplest way to clear out unwanted clutter!

Once you’ve installed the mod, you can create a Trash Can at your Workbench using 20 Iron Ingots. Place it anywhere in your world, just like a chest. To delete an item, simply put it inside the Trash Can and close it. When you reopen the Trash Can, everything inside will be permanently removed.
