8 Things Hytale Does Better Than Minecraft

Hytale is now available in early access after a long wait. Although many people are comparing it to other games, Hytale offers a lot of unique improvements and strengths of its own.

Hytale is a new game, but it’s already showing promise and surpassing Minecraft in certain ways, as outlined in detail by TopMob.

8 Things Hytale Does Better Than Minecraft

Crafting From Storage

There’s nothing more frustrating in Minecraft than realizing you’re short on a crafting material and having to awkwardly run back to your storage to get it. Hytale solves this problem – it automatically gathers materials from your storage as you craft, so you don’t have to interrupt your work.

This is especially helpful if your belongings are still packed away in boxes or scattered around, because it saves you time searching for lost items.

Inventory Management

Hytale’s inventory system is much more relaxed and efficient than Minecraft’s. It’s really fast to unload everything you’ve gathered – whether it’s food, ores, or other materials – and sort it neatly with just a few clicks. You can quickly put everything into a container and organize it by type.

It’s also simple to organize items already inside a container, saving you a lot of time and effort from constantly having to sort through everything.

Wildlife

Minecraft consistently introduces new animals with its yearly updates, greatly expanding the variety of creatures players can find. However, Hytale currently features a larger and more diverse collection of animals, with even more planned for the future.

Hytale is teeming with wildlife, from common animals like boars, fish, frogs, crows, owls, bears, moose, and snakes, to more exotic creatures. Dinosaurs are coming soon, and past development previews have hinted at even more additions, including bison, antelope, and sabertooth cats – it truly feels like a wild and diverse world!

Modding

Minecraft is famous for its extensive modding community on computers, but Hytale is quickly becoming just as impressive. In its first few days of early access, players downloaded mods over a million times through Curseforge, and the game’s developers, Hypixel Studios, have provided easy-to-use tools for creating those mods.

Hytale’s modding capabilities could dramatically change the game, offering players a constantly expanding range of experiences, much like the endless content available in games like Fortnite and Roblox. From small improvements to completely original ideas, mods have the potential to keep the game fresh and exciting for everyone.

No Crafting Grid

Although Hytale is often compared to Minecraft, a key difference lies in how crafting works. Minecraft makes you carefully arrange items in a specific pattern on a crafting grid, while Hytale simplifies things – you just need to have all the required materials.

While Minecraft offers automatic crafting layouts if you have the necessary items, Hytale’s system is noticeably simpler and more user-friendly.

Server Support

Similar to Minecraft, Hytale focuses on playing with others. While Minecraft also allows custom servers, getting them set up can be difficult, especially for beginners – it often involves a lot of complicated steps.

Hytale began as a popular server within the Minecraft game Hypixel. It’s designed to make joining or connecting to servers – even ones you’ve bought – very straightforward, and getting started in a new game world is fast and easy.

Mantling

Minecraft’s world, built from blocks, can sometimes feel clunky to move around in due to limited jumping and movement options. Hytale, while also using a block-based style, improves exploration with a helpful feature called mantling, which makes getting around much easier.

In Hytale, you can easily climb onto nearby ledges, which is really helpful for getting away from enemies and players in combat.

Plenty More to Come

Hytale is launching into early access very soon, but the current version is just a small taste of what’s planned. The developers are working on a lot more content and plan to release regular updates, so the game’s future is full of possibilities.

It’s really promising to see this level of support, especially since some feel Minecraft hasn’t kept up with the latest trends in gaming, with significant updates taking a long time to release. Whether Hytale will maintain this pace of updates after its initial early access phase remains to be seen, but players are very excited about its future plans.
