Initially, the Episode Revenant’s Vesper’s Host Dungeon will debut with a special Contest Mode modification for the initial 48 hours. This mode operates much like a fresh raid release, inviting teams to participate and earn unique rewards. One of these potential prizes is the legendary Icebreaker sniper rifle. Once three separate teams have completed the challenge, the regular experience will commence, enabling all other players to explore the new content without engaging in Contest Mode’s tougher challenges.
Over the weekend, I can’t help but feel a thrill as my favorite vendor, Xur, makes his final visit in September for Destiny 2 players like me. Here’s a guide to track down his current location, get updates on his exotic cipher quest, and take a look at all the new exotic and legendary gear he brings for September 27-28, 2024!
Where is Xur?
Instead of searching for Xur on weekends, you can now find him permanently settled within The Tower’s Bazaar region, which means your hunt for him is a thing of the past.
Because the Marketplace lies smack in the middle of both rapid travel spots, gamers have the freedom to select either one as their entry point. Venture into the district where Ikora and Hawthorne can be found, then search for the Ramen Shop situated against the rear wall. With the shop facing you, the alleyway, where Xur is positioned, lies to your right side.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Each week, Xur performs his usual tasks of providing quests, exotics, and top-tier equipment. These quests are crucial not only to secure a second fated engram but also to obtain legacy exotic gear from the Tower’s kiosk. Players can obtain new ciphers by successfully completing strikes or by winning matches in the Crucible or Gambit. Earning extra points is possible by teaming up with clan members or taking on more difficult challenges.
Xur’s Exotic Armor
Nezarec’s Sin – Warlock helmet
Exotic Perk:
- Abyssal Extractors – Void-damage kills increase ability energy recharge rate.
This week, the top performance honor goes to Warlocks and an exceptional PvE exotic. Though it caters only to Voidwalkers, this exotic weapon significantly reduces the cooldown time of players’ abilities, making them available far more frequently than usual. If you don’t already possess it or haven’t rolled a stat this high, it might be worth considering an acquisition.

There’s nothing particularly remarkable here, but it’s a reliable, quality exotic item. However, it doesn’t seem poised to dethrone any of the current top-tier or trending equipment just yet.

Phoenix Cradle – Titan leg armor
Exotic Perk:

Due to its special connection with the Sun for Titan-related matters, this unique item may not appeal to everyone. Notably, it extends the duration of its effect, but its efficiency greatly relies on sunspots being present.

- Paracausal Shot – Final blows and precision hits with Hawkmoon grant stacks of Paracausal Charge. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks. Stowing Hawkmoon on the final round removes this bonus.

SUROS Regime – Auto Rifle
- SUROS Legacy – The bottom half of each magazine deals bonus damage and has a chance to return health on kill.

Prometheus Lens – Trace Rifle
- Prismatic Inferno – Fires a Solar trace beam that creates a field of heat energy that grows as the weapon is fired. Sustained damage applies scorch to the target.
- Flame Refraction – Kills with this weapon return a fraction of the ammo used to the magazine from reserves, extending the beam’s duration.

The Prospector – Heavy Grenade Launcher
- Excavation – Hold shoot to fire grenades. Release to detonate all live grenades simultaneously. Grenades stick to surfaces and set targets on fire. Defeating targets creates Arc explosions.
