Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon - Detritus Foundry Dungeon Guide

As a seasoned adventurer who’s ventured through countless dungeons and fought myriad formidable foes, I can confidently say that the Detritus Foundry Third Floor and its menacing N’Erudian Reaper Boss present quite the challenge. But fear not, for every obstacle overcome only serves to strengthen our resolve and hone our skills.

In the upcoming content for Remnant 2’s The Dark Horizon DLC, characters departing from the Agronomy Sector will encounter their initial boss battle, which takes place in a location known as the Detritus Foundry. Equipped with top-tier weapons and Archetypes, players should feel confident as they tackle this challenge head-on.

Nevertheless, there are a few things players should know about this location, and this guide will go through every single detail, so that you don’t miss any loot or critical encounter.

Where To Find The Detritus Foundry In Remnant 2

After players have fully explored all the procedurally generated dungeons and maps within the Agronomy Sector, such as the challenging Stagnant Manufactory with its tricky puzzles, they will discover an additional route if they take flight using the Gliders and head north, guided by the warm air currents.

As you arrive at a remote spot, you’ll find a platform reachable solely by Glider. Atop this platform lies the entrance to the Detritus Foundry, serving as the connecting tunnel between the Agronomy Sector and the area known as the Withered Necropolis zone.

Upon entering the Detritus Foundry, they will encounter the distinctive red radiance of the World Stone. Taking a few steps further may lead to confrontations with enemies and a rough pathway. Proceeding deeper into the dungeon, you will eventually reach a junction. At this point, players have the option to veer off on a short side trip, where they might discover world-exclusive items (randomly generated in each N’erud adventure), treasure chests, and other surprises.

The video you see offers a comprehensive tour of the Detritus Foundry Map, featuring zones consistently present in each playthrough, as well as randomly generated treasures. The following table highlights significant items that gamers might encounter within this dungeon.

Once you’ve finished the first part of the Detritus Foundry, continue on until you discover an elevator taking you to the Greenhouse segment within the dungeon. In this locale, you’ll find a spacious area enclosed by glass walls, housing various crops. At the heart of this section is a radiant Red Key Item named Crop Sample – make sure to pick it up and brace yourself for combat.

A horde of adversaries, among them an Elite Amalgam, are about to invade the room, leaving scant room for combat. To ensure a more manageable engagement, it would be wise to conduct your operations beyond the area where the Crop Sample was discovered.

Employing a Character Archetype that dispenses area damage, such as an Archon, can be beneficial for players in tough predicaments, like dealing with hordes of enemies or escaping being pinned by powerful Elite adversaries, such as Amalgams and Harvesters, who thrive on physical assaults to overwhelm the player.

Once they defeat the Amalgam and its followers, the players will receive a Shard as their reward, allowing them to delve deeper into the dungeon. However, it is essential to understand that there are no more Cromp Samples up for grabs; each run awards only one such item.

Where To Use The Crop Sample In Detritus Foundry

In a portion of the Greenhouse’s circular space, you’ll find a short diversion directing you to an elevator. Ride it down and discover yourself in the Greenhouse Lab. Inside, gamers will spot two radiant statues, a pool of dark Ooze, and a lustrous violet object close to a chest at the room’s rear. Head towards the shiny object, which is an amulet known as the Quantum Memory — a handy item that makes your flawless dodges recharge your primary weapon, or perfect slide dodges recharge both weapons simultaneously. It can be a bit tricky to master, but it’s a fantastic addition to your collection.

Following this, players are advised to listen to the voice recording near the deceased, as it will provide instructions on utilizing the Crop Sample they previously gathered. Make sure to examine both statues adorned with terrariums, for the audio file cautions that one may be hazardous.

If you place the Crop Sample inside the Red Statue, nothing will occur immediately, but if players revisit later, they’ll encounter a mini-Boss known as the Inverted Shambler. Defeating this boss may reward the Repercussion Mutator, an item that can stack up to five times and increase the damage output of ranged weapons.

If players place the Crop Sample at the Blue Statue, they must first finish the dungeon and revisit the location later to discover that the Crop Sample has grown. Interacting with it allows them to obtain a new Relic item: The Gossamer Heart. Interestingly, this artifact doesn’t restore health, but rather offers a passive benefit to the Evade Window frame, raising it by 1. Upon activation, it will temporarily boost the Evade Window Bonus Frames by an additional 2 for the next 15 seconds.

The Gossamer Heart, when combined effectively with the Invader character type and the previously discovered Quantum Memory amulet, makes for an exceptional asset in gameplay, particularly for those aiming for a “Dodge Tank” build setup. This could potentially revolutionize the gameplay experience.

Detritus Foundry Third Floor & N’Erudian Reaper Boss

Head back to the Greenhouse, then proceed in the direction opposite to the Lab elevator. You’ll encounter a slight diversion that takes you to an outdoor walkway. Follow this route and eliminate any adversaries along the way.

Keep an eye out for the Elite Specter, which can be found on the stairway heading towards the third-floor elevator. Be mindful that these entities possess a lethal, single-use ability known as a one-shot skill, capable of instantly eliminating players in mere seconds.

Players will find that this Pink Specter possesses a power leading to a Crowd Control effect, so it is advisable to keep a safe distance from the wormhole and steer clear of being caught off guard by the Specter. After handling the pesky Elite, players should proceed to the elevator forwards and ascend to the third and ultimate level of the dungeon, where they will encounter the N’Erudian Reaper Boss.

How To Beat N’Erudian Reaper Boss

Engaging the N’Erudian Reaper may prove difficult, so aim to stay near the center of the battlefield. If you haven’t encountered the Astral Harvester Hidden Boss yet, know that this opponent executes similar moves. Notably, it employs a frustrating crowd control mechanism that resembles a spider web; coming into contact with it will inflict shock damage and temporarily slow you down.

Players can effectively withstand the onslaught of the N’Erudian Reaper using the Elixir of Life (Alchemist’s), a skill that offers significant protection. The Elixir of Life also has an added benefit – it automatically revives players under its influence, making it an invaluable asset for those confronting it alone.

After creating a pentagram-shaped net, the Grim Reaper leaps smack in the center of the battlefield, so be ready with sufficient protection to withstand its onslaught. As players inflict enough harm, the boss becomes increasingly agile, darting between areas and swiftly weaving the trap net at an accelerated pace. Focus on striking the specter that emerges from the possessed Harvester’s head to inflict critical damage. After a few attacks, it will be defeated.

After overcoming the N’Erudian Reaper, you’ll find a Replication Pod as loot. This Replication Pod is essential for creating the Harvester Bots Weapon Mod.

Make sure to grab the loot-filled chest and scrap pile located close to the exit before proceeding. Your next destination is the Detritus Forge’s exit, followed by a new part of the Agronomy Sector with an elevator inside. Here, you’ll encounter a large Glowing Romboid object. Fire at it, and be prepared for a confrontation with Alepsis Taura. Once this is handled, players will be ready to move into the Withered Necropolis region.
