As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the anticipation for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is palpable. Having grown up playing the original games, the stealth and exploration mechanics were what initially drew me in. Yet, as the series evolved, so did my preferences, leaning more towards the RPG elements.

It’s clear that Assassin’s Creed won’t be leaving Ubisoft’s roster anytime soon, despite the division among fans over a blend of stealth and RPG elements. Regardless, there are several upcoming Assassin’s Creed projects in development. The nearest one is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and here’s what we know about its release date!

When Does Assassin’s Creed Shadows Release?

The official release date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is February 14, and you can pre-order the game right now via the Ubisoft Store for $69.99.

What is Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

In the pipeline is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the latest installment in the main series. Similar to Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, it continues the lineage. Unlike its predecessors, it seems to prioritize open-world exploration and role-playing game mechanics over stealth gameplay, although stealth will still be an essential aspect of gameplay, as it has been in previous versions. Ubisoft appears to be aiming to cater to both groups of players by dividing the franchise into two distinct styles.

As a fan of the more RPG-centric Assassin’s Creed titles, I’m excited to finally play one set in Feudal Japan. However, I genuinely hope the stealth-focused crowd receives one up to their standards soon enough. But hey, maybe Assassin’s Creed Shadows will merge the best of both worlds to be the one entry we all desire!

In essence, it’s rumored that Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers a vast game world, intricate yet gratifying battle dynamics, construction of bases, and two main characters: Naoe and Yasuke. Although you might not be a samurai, it seems we’ll probably control a ninja or Ronin instead.

Regrettably, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been postponed by Ubisoft, even though the game is essentially finished and just needs some additional refining for a couple of months.
