YouTuber MineFact recently gave an update on their massive project: a full-scale recreation of New York City in Minecraft. The player says it’s been five years in the making, built by a dedicated team working countless hours. The build includes over 50,000 buildings across all five boroughs, and the level of detail is astonishingly accurate – it really captures the feeling of being in New York City. They’re even building the entire subway system, with one builder noting that many stations and tunnels are already finished.

I’ve been following this incredible Minecraft project for a while now, and it’s just blown me away! It all started during the pandemic, and the creator says just explaining how they managed it and all the technical hurdles would fill an entire video! They began building in the World Trade Center area, and have since expanded to neighborhoods like Tribeca, Little Italy, and even Queens. But they’re not stopping anytime soon – they estimate it will take a few more years to finish! That could make it one of the longest-running fan projects ever! It’s part of something even bigger called BuildTheEarth, which is trying to recreate the entire planet in Minecraft. And the best part? They’re always looking for help!
