The online servers for WWE 2K25 will be turned off on March 31, 2027. Even though the game is less than a year old, players already know they’ll soon lose access to its online multiplayer modes. This is a common issue with WWE 2K games, as online support often doesn’t last very long.
Since the WWE 2K series returned with WWE 2K22, online support for the games hasn’t lasted very long. The servers for WWE 2K22 went offline in January 2024, followed by WWE 2K23 in January 2025. Originally, WWE 2K24 was scheduled to lose online support this January, but 2K extended support until March 31st.
When is WWE 2K25 Shutting Down?
- March 31, 2027 for PC, PS5, and Xbox
- March 31, 2028 for Switch 2
The online servers for WWE 2K24 are going offline, and a year later, WWE 2K25 will follow. 2K has announced that WWE 2K25 servers will shut down on March 31, 2027, just over two years after the game’s release. While this is longer than the online support for WWE 2K22 and WWE 2K23, it’s still a fairly short lifespan for an online game. The version of WWE 2K25 for the Switch 2 will remain online for an extra year, with services ending on March 31, 2028. This is likely due to the Switch 2 version being released after the other versions of the game.
On March 31, 2027, the online servers for WWE 2K25 will be turned off, meaning players will lose access to all online features, including created content and online matches. While it’s disappointing to see these games regularly discontinued, especially considering the effort players put into creating content, it’s become a common reality for fans of the WWE 2K series.
WWE 2K26 is On the Way
Currently, WWE 2K25 is the leading professional wrestling video game. However, WWE 2K26 is already in development and will eventually take its place. Although official information about WWE 2K26 hasn’t been released yet, some details have emerged through leaks, hinting at what players can expect.
Credits: Visual Concepts According to recent rumors, CM Punk will be a featured star in the Showcase Mode of WWE 2K26. The game is also expected to focus on the Attitude Era and include new match types. WWE 2K games are usually announced around the time of the Royal Rumble, but it’s still unclear if that will happen with WWE 2K26.
This year’s Royal Rumble is happening in Saudi Arabia, so the typical press events for the WWE 2K game series probably won’t occur. However, the Royal Rumble show could still be the place where WWE 2K26 is first revealed. If you’re excited about WWE 2K26, be sure to watch the show on ESPN on Saturday, January 31st, at 2 PM Eastern Time.
