Valheim Player Builds Massive Tower Fire Escape

A creative Valheim player impressively expanded one of the game’s Sealed Towers by building a massive fire escape. This incredible staircase construction joins the many impressive builds created by the Valheim community and offers a clever idea for tackling the difficult challenges found in the Plains area.

Starting with the update released in late August 2023 (version 0.217.14), every world in Valheim now contains three Sealed Towers in its Plains areas. These towers act as dungeons, but they’re different from others because you don’t need to load a new screen to enter them – they’re part of the open world. You can find them while exploring, or by using Hildir’s map. Interestingly, even though they look like you should climb them, you actually complete them by starting at the top and working your way down to the bottom, where a boss is waiting.

Valheim Player Ascends Sealed Tower With Massive Fire Escape

To tackle the tough challenge of Valheim’s Sealed Tower, Reddit user Gdim15 built an enormous fire escape that connects to the tower. They jokingly said it brought the tower “up to code.” This fire escape covers all 28 levels and has multiple branches that reach different openings. It’s a very thorough – and perhaps over-the-top – way to climb the towers in the game.

Gdim15’s Sealed Tower Fire Escape Is Trickier To Build Than It Looks Like

Gdim15 built an incredible fire escape in the game Valheim that quickly became popular on the r/Valheim subreddit, earning over 3,700 upvotes shortly after it was posted in January 2026. What’s remarkable is that Gdim15 built it without using ironwood, which normally makes structures stronger and easier to build tall. Instead, they cleverly connected the fire escape directly to the Sealed Tower at every level. This meant using long wooden beams and short connectors to firmly attach each section to the tower’s wall, ensuring everything stayed stable. It took a deep understanding of the game’s building system to pull this off, and it was more challenging to build than it looks!

Gdim15’s fire escape is an impressive feat of engineering, but it’s probably too much for climbing Sealed Towers in Valheim. These towers, found in the Plains, often have balconies that let you start climbing from much lower than the top. Even if you want to begin at the very top, you can usually save a lot of materials by building out the ledges and platforms that naturally appear around the towers.

Climbing the narrow ledges of the Sealed Towers can be tricky, but the Feather Cape is a huge help. It lets you glide and completely eliminates fall damage, so even if you slip, you won’t die. However, the cape is vulnerable to fire, and the towers are full of enemies who attack with fire. If you’re worried about that, Gdim15’s fire escape offers a simpler, though costly, way to climb the towers without needing special climbing gear.
