Until Dawn PS5 Remake File Size Revealed

Until Dawn PS5 Remake File Size Revealed

As a seasoned horror gaming enthusiast who has navigated through countless terrifying nights, I can confidently say that the upcoming remake of “Until Dawn” has me absolutely thrilled! The file size may be hefty at 56.676 GB, but for a game boasting Unreal Engine 5 graphics and an expanded storyline, it’s a small price to pay.

The file size for the remake of Supermassive Games’ interactive horror drama Until Dawn has been revealed, coming in at 56.676 GB on PlayStation 5. That file size is nearly 10 GB larger than the original 2015 version of Until Dawn on PlayStation 4, showing just how much larger the game has grown in one console generation.

Back in May, as a die-hard fan eagerly awaiting any news, I was thrilled when Ballistic Moon officially confirmed the remake of “Until Dawn.” This time around, it’s coming to both PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. Mark your calendars for October 4th, as that’s when we can get our hands on this chilling survival horror game. What makes me even more excited is that it’s being developed using Unreal Engine 5, promising significant enhancements in lighting, models, and textures for a truly immersive experience.

A recent announcement by PlayStation Game Size revealed that the upcoming remake of Until Dawn for PC will have a larger file size compared to its original version on PlayStation 4. The game’s Steam page advises players to free up around 70 GB of space on their SSDs, as both the recommended and minimum system requirements list this amount. Therefore, users might need to make room for it by clearing some storage.

Until Dawn’s Remake Will Be Much Bigger Than the Original

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming Ballistic Moon remake of the game. Not only will it boast improved visual effects, but it’ll also offer a unique experience distinct from Supermassive’s original. The remake is set to deliver even more content from the ‘Until Dawn’ universe, including an extended storyline, a broader world with new locations to discover, and hidden collectibles to uncover – all of which might explain the additional 10 GB of data.

Supermassive Games has refined its story-driven, investigative horror gameplay since the initial launch of Until Dawn, although they weren’t directly involved in the remake. From 2019 to 2022, they released four games as part of The Dark Pictures Anthology series, each with a unique narrative – from a man dealing with delusions after a house fire that claimed his family, to a group stranded in a murder hotel with a serial killer. A second season is slated for 2025. Additionally, they’ve created longer games in the same vein: The Quarry, a werewolf-themed game released in 2022, and The Casting of Frank Stone, a crossover with Dead by Daylight, which was recently made available.
