As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in the vibrant world of My Hero Academia, I can confidently say that the battles between Deku and Bakugo against All For One and Shigaraki were nothing short of epic. The Final War showcased not just their raw power and abilities, but also the importance of friendship, teamwork, and self-realization.

In the heat of the Final War within My Hero Academia, it falls upon me, Bakugo Katsuki, and my comrade Izuku Midoriya, to confront All For One and Shigaraki. Once I uncovered the truth about One For All, I felt an overwhelming responsibility to tackle this battle solo, shielding everyone else from harm, loss, or the risk of losing their unique abilities.

Contrastingly, Bakugo has consistently aimed for a flawless triumph that underscores his identity as a hero. Despite their triumphs over the two villains demonstrating their power and skills, what set apart Bakugo’s and Deku’s victories?

Deku had the support of others during the battle

As the Great War drew near, there were significant distinctions in the combat strategies of Bakugo and Deku. Historically, Izuku Midoriya had an inclination towards shouldering the battle burden himself. He was eager to engage in combat, absorbing most of the damage, and was reluctant for others to get injured. In fact, he would even put himself at risk to rescue those in peril.

It’s quite possible that several factors contributed to this situation. Firstly, Deki’s lack of a natural Quirk in the past meant he was still mastering the full potential of One For All. Given the multitude of Quirks within One For All, Deki had to consistently train his body for the Quirks that were soon to surface.

One additional factor was that Deku persistently battled foes who were significantly stronger than him. This compelled him to push beyond his own limitations, often causing physical harm to himself. Over time, the cumulative damage to his body resulted in serious consequences and numerous injuries as the story unfolded.

During that period, Deku hid the fact that All For One existed to shield his classmates and the people around him. This secrecy made him often engage in upcoming battles on his own, aiming to keep others from getting injured or losing their powers. But after Bakugo Katsuki rescued him from being pierced by All For One, Deku started acknowledging he couldn’t fight battles alone.

As we move into the Dark Deku storyline, it takes him a while to comprehend this situation, fighting on his own all the while. But following their rescue, Deku comes to understand that he doesn’t have to battle alone any longer – his classmates and numerous Pro Heroes stand ready to assist him. This vital lesson was crucial for Deku, as it would prove invaluable during the Final War against Shigaraki.

He suffers a lot in the process, but that’s what makes me want to root for him.

In the Final War, Deku comes to trust his allies in combat. He stops underestimating their power and leans on them when he has to confront All For One and Shigaraki. Though the main fight against Tomura Shigaraki is primarily a duel between him and Deku, in delivering the decisive strike, the Pro Heroes and many of his classmates rally to assist him.

As Deku approached the final stages of his fight with Shigaraki, he powerfully transferred all of the Quirks and remnants of One For All into Shigaraki. Regrettably, this left him with only fragments of the original Quirk’s strength. As All For One started to assert control over Shigaraki’s body, numerous Heroes who had participated in the war rallied around Deku to aid him during the battle. With their support and combined efforts, Deku managed to defeat All For One, who was temporarily occupying Shigaraki’s body.

The Difference Between Bakugo’s Victory in the Final War

With Many Advantages on His Side, Bakugo Obtained a Perfect Victory

Deku’s triumph differed significantly from Bakugo Katsuki’s. Unlike Bakugo, Deku’s victory over All For One and Shigaraki was a result of the camaraderie and backing he garnered during his years at UA High School.

In a turn of events, Bakugo Katsuki engaged in combat against All For One, following All For One’s defeat and an attempt to end All Might’s life. After being resuscitated by Edgeshot, it was then that Bakugo truly comprehended the workings of his Quirk once it had awakened. Notably, during this battle, Bakugo stood against All For One without any assistance or backup whatsoever.

Fortunately for Bakugo, All For One was running short on time and had to quickly reach Shigaraki’s body for the transfer. In this battle, Bakugo benefited from a couple of crucial factors. Firstly, he now grasped how his Cluster Quirk operated, which seemed to intimidate All For One when Kudo appeared within Bakugo. Secondly, each strike Bakugo landed on All For One weakened him, making him younger and causing his power to dissipate.

Following his ultimate move known as Howitzer Impact, All For One was reduced to an infantile state and ultimately disintegrated following one final attack against Bakugo. In essence, Bakugo claimed victory solo, vanquishing All For One with several strategic advantages at play. Conversely, Deku endured a more challenging battle, eventually securing his triumph with the crucial support of his comrades on the journey to victory.
