Xbox Game Pass Is Losing 7 Games on January 31

Several games, including Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 31st. This means more games are being removed this January than previously expected, although the service could still end the month with more additions than removals.

Xbox Game Pass removed several games on January 15th, including Neon White and Road 96, along with a few others. Although Microsoft hasn’t officially said which games are leaving on January 31st, the list is already available on their website.

At the end of the month, seven games will be removed from the service: Cataclismo, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, Paw Patrol World, Shady Part of Me, and Starbound. Most of these games – five of them – have been available on Xbox Game Pass since January 2025, meaning they’ve been on the service for about a year. Cataclismo and Paw Patrol World were added a bit later, in September 2025.

Among the games leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 31st, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector stands out as a critical success. It boasts an impressive “Mighty” rating on OpenCritic, averaging 87 based on 79 reviews, and is recommended by 99% of critics. Praised for its compelling story, realistic sci-fi world, impactful choices, and engaging gameplay loop, Citizen Sleeper 2 was the highest-rated new game added to Game Pass in 2025 and remains a favorite. At around ten hours long, there’s still time for fans of cyberpunk and RPGs to play it on Xbox Game Pass before it’s removed.

At the end of the month, the popular game Cataclismo will be removed from the XGP library. Developed by Digital Sun, this dark fantasy real-time strategy game challenges players to build fortresses piece by piece, similar to LEGOs, and then defend them against waves of enemies. Cataclismo originally launched in early access in July 2024 and officially released in March 2025. It currently has an average rating of 84 on OpenCritic and over 2,100 “Very Positive” reviews on Steam.

The Xbox website hasn’t always accurately predicted when games will leave Game Pass. While the seven games currently listed are probably leaving soon, the list might not be complete, or the removal dates could change. For instance, Paw Patrol World was once shown leaving on December 15, 2025, both on the website and in the app, but it stayed available and is now scheduled to leave on January 31st.

Microsoft will likely announce which games are leaving Xbox Game Pass this month around January 20th. Along with that announcement, two new games, MIO: Memories in Orbit and Resident Evil Village, will be added to the service. Nova Roma is confirmed to be added a couple of days later, on January 22nd.
