In the story of “Wolfs,” Manhattan District Attorney Margaret (played by Amy Ryan) finds herself in a precarious situation when a young man (Austin Abrams) she met at her hotel bar ends up dead in her room. To handle this emergency, she contacts a trusted contact and enlists the help of an unnamed professional fixer, played by George Clooney. Upon arrival, he takes care of disposing of the body. However, an unexpected turn of events occurs when another unidentified fixer (Brad Pitt) shows up. He’s been employed by the hotel’s enigmatic owner, Pam, who had observed the entire incident through concealed cameras.

  • Oceans Twelve (2004)
  • Oceans Thirteen (2007)
  • Burn After Reading (2008)

Pam wants to safeguard both the hotel’s good name and Margaret’s career, so she persuades the two problem solvers to collaborate, despite their initial hesitation. Margaret then shows her partner the video footage where he is visible and also recalls the commitment he made to her when accepting the job.

You take a job, you give your word, and that word is the measure of a man.

In a turn of events, the fixers unite and offer Margaret new attire and an alternative plan, enabling her to depart from the hotel. Matters become intricate when these fixers find a substantial amount of narcotics in the child’s luggage. Pam advises them to restore these drugs to their original owner to dodge any repercussions. The men then relocate the body onto one of their vehicles using a luggage trolley and take the drugs along. Yet, an unexpected revelation arises when they find out that the child is still conscious. They sedate him, store him in the trunk, and convey him to a covert medical professional named June (Poorna Jagannathan). However, in a startling plot twist, the child breaks free, sparking a high-stakes game of hide and seek throughout the city.

Later on, they manage to find him and administer some pills given by June to help him sober up, followed by questioning him about his role in acquiring the drugs. Suspecting a connection to the Albanian mob, they probe for details. He confesses that he had agreed to transport the drugs due to a favor asked by his friend Diego, but later chose to use them himself when invited to Margaret’s room. They then go to a club where they aim to find the pager belonging to Diego, which will reveal the location for the drug delivery. The young man seizes the pager from behind the bar; however, their identities are exposed by a Croatian criminal named Dimitri (Zlatko Buric). In an attempt to assure them that they aren’t partners with Dimitri and his associates, they leave the scene.

In this scenario, the troubleshooters come to the realization that Diego’s boss, who is also a drug lord, likely purloined the Albanian cargo and was orchestrating to frame the Kid as the culprit. They decide to allow the Kid to carry out the delivery, despite their concerns about his safety, and proceed to the designated spot. Upon arrival, the Kid steps into the warehouse, only to find himself in a trap set by a group of Albanians.

After being attacked by Dimitri’s bodyguards, the fixers manage to fight back, killing their attackers. They then enter where Diego’s associates and the Albanians had a fatal confrontation. Remarkably, the Kid had managed to survive by hiding in a car trunk. Initially planning to eliminate him to conceal their role, they instead spare his life. Escorting him home via the subway, they coerce his father (Richard Kind) into silence about the incident.

Clooney And Pitt Also Worked On Two More Movies Together

  • Confessions of A Dangerous Mind (2002) Pitt had a cameo in Clooney’s directorial debut.
  • IF (2024) Clooney plays Spaceman, an astronaut imaginary friend, and Pitt is Keith, a silent IF.

After their shared experience, the negotiators opted for a relaxing breakfast at a diner in Brighton Beach. They reminisced about the incident and started talking about what had transpired. Margaret’s associate then questioned Pam’s associate on how he managed to persuade the other fixer to collaborate with him. He revealed that he was instructed to do so.

You take a job, you give your word, and that word is the measure of a man.

Upon discovering they both worked for the same boss, they revisit the previous night’s occurrences and deduce their employer masterminded the entire situation, intending to eliminate them. Peering out the window, they spot a group of assassins preparing to attack. They take cover, and as a precautionary measure, decide to share names if they make it through the upcoming gunfight. With weapons in hand, they return fire.

Is There a Mid-Credits Scene?

Wolfs Ending, Explained

Indeed, during the mid-credits of “Wolfs,” there’s a scene displaying hotel room footage detailing the events leading to the child’s accident, as narrated by Margaret. Due to the chaotic nature of that night, the footage captured by the camera was overlooked by the fixers. This mid-credits scene implies someone might have obtained this footage and intends to exploit it. If released, it could potentially damage Margaret’s reputation while also exposing the identities of the two fixers. It has been announced that a “Wolfs” sequel is being developed, so this scene could serve as a foundation for future events in the series.
