Hitman: World of Assassination is getting a cross-progression update on February 3, 2026.
Man, it feels like ages since Hitman: World of Assassination got a real update! The last one was huge – they announced Eminem as a playable Elusive Target, which was awesome. This newest update doesn’t add anything new to the game itself, but it’s still a good thing because it helps out if you play on different platforms. Basically, it makes things smoother if you switch between, say, PlayStation and PC.
Hitman: World of Assassination Cross Progression Details
The latest Hitman: World of Assassination update will let players continue their game progress on any device they play on. Before the update goes live for everyone, a patch will be released on Steam to make sure everything runs smoothly.
With Cross Progression turned on, your game progress is saved online and shared between all devices connected to your IOI account. One device will be your main profile, and all others will connect to it. When using Cross Progression in Hitman: World of Assassination, certain items won’t transfer between platforms – like game licenses, DLC licenses, and unlocks earned through DLC. Only the following data will be shared across all your devices:
- Experience
- Player Level
- Challenges
- Location Mastery
- Unlocks and Inventory
- Achievements / Trophies
- Freelancer Mode Progression
- Campaign Story Progress
To access downloadable content (DLC), you need to own it on the platform you’re playing on. Also, if you want to use older save files from other devices, you’ll need to disable cross-progression first. Finally, the option to transfer progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3 will no longer be available starting February 3rd, once cross-progression is live for Hitman: World of Assassination.
IO Interactive’s CEO accidentally revealed details about Hitman 4 last month. We’re also curious to hear what you think about cross-progression coming to Hitman: World of Assassination! Share your opinions in the comments, and connect with other fans on the official TopMob Discord server.
TopMob reports that the Russian government has promised to fund the development of a game to rival Call of Duty, offering 10 billion rubles to the studio that succeeds. Stay updated by subscribing to our weekly newsletter!
