Blood Roses are a key ingredient for making healing potions in the game Hytale. They can be hard to find, though, because they only appear in specific locations on the map, and the game doesn’t offer any clues about where to look.

How to Get Blood Rose in Hytale
Blood Rose Location
In Hytale, you can find Blood Roses in the dense forests of the Emerald Grove (Zone 1) and on the open plains of the Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3). While they appear in both areas, the Whisperfrost Frontiers is generally a better place to farm them (see details below).
Blood Roses emit a dull red glow at night that makes them easy to spot when the sun is down.
You can get a full Blood Rose by pressing the Interact key (F) while looking at it. If you use Crude Shears on a Blood Rose, you’ll get Blood Petals instead. Both Blood Roses and Blood Petals are needed to make a lesser healing potion in Hytale.
Emerald Grove
You can find Blood Roses in the Emerald Grove (Zone 1), specifically in dense forests like the one pictured. Because of all the trees, they can be tricky to spot, even when it’s dark.
You can often find Blood Roses growing near berry bushes. If you’re in the Emerald Grove, check around Wild berry bushes to find them.
Whisperfrost Frontiers
The Frostmarch Tundra is located between the Emerald Grove (Zone 1) and the Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3). On the map, it appears as a pale yellow area separating the green forests from the snowy plains.
To locate Blood Roses in the Frostmarch Tundra, it’s best to search at night from a high vantage point. Their distinctive red glow will be easy to spot across the landscape.
This area is very different from the Emerald Grove – it’s almost completely flat and has very few trees. Because of this, it’s easy to see for long distances. If you can get to a high spot, you can spot all the Blood Roses within your view at once, even at night.

How to Get Blood Rose Seeds
If you want to make a lot of healing potions in Hytale, you’ll need a lot of Blood Roses. You can find them growing naturally, but that’s not very efficient because they’re rare. The best way to get Blood Roses is to unlock the Blood Rose Seed Bag recipe and grow them on your own farm. You’ll need two things to get started.

- Blood Rose Seed Bag Recipe
In Hytale, you can learn the recipe for the Blood Rose Seed Bag by harvesting wild Blood Roses with Crude Shears. You can make Crude Shears at a Farmer’s Workbench. Each time you cut a Blood Rose with the shears, you have a small chance of getting the recipe, along with a Blood Petal.
As soon as I got the recipe for the Blood Rose Seed Bag, I put it right in my hotbar and clicked to learn it. Now I can finally start making Blood Rose Seeds – so excited!

Once you’ve collected seeds in Hytale, you can grow them just like any other crop – simply plant, water, and then harvest when they’re ready.
Red Crystal Shard Location
You can find a lot of Red Crystal Shards on the surface of the Devastated Lands (Zone 4). This area is easily recognizable on the map by its dark, blackened ground, lava, and dead trees – it looks like large black islands separated from the rest of the world.
