Road to Vostok Dev Lists Features For Next Public Demo Update

As someone who’s been eagerly following Road to Vostok for what feels like an eternity, October 1 can’t come soon enough! I remember the day the first demo was released back in 2022, and since then, I’ve been hooked. It’s like a survival FPS Sisyphus complex – every time I think I’ve reached the top of the hill, the developer adds more content to roll back down!

Beginning October 1st, an updated version of the second public demonstration for Road to Vostok titled ‘version two’ will be made available on Steam. Over two years have passed since the initial demo was launched, and during this time, the game’s solo developer has tirelessly added more content to the trial edition.

Check out the full list below to find out what’s coming in the next Road to Vostok demo update.

Highly Anticipated

Among the most anticipated games on Steam is the title “Road to Vostok.” Labeled as a challenging single-player survival FPS, I’ve been hooked since its initial release, which means I’ve been eagerly following its development for quite some time now. I can hardly wait to witness the unfolding storyline of “Road to Vostok,” and on October 1st, an updated version of the popular demo will be unveiled.

Ever since its initial demo launch in 2022, Road to Vostok has undergone significant changes. It now boasts collaborations with actual survival equipment suppliers and expanded maps, among other updates. The game is currently without a confirmed release date.

Back in May, I was beyond thrilled when our game snagged the title of Best Creative Achievement of the Year at the Finnish Game Awards. On top of that, our YouTube channel surpassed an impressive milestone of 100,000 subscribers! This project has been a labor of love, and there’s still so much more to share. The second version of the public demo, coming your way on October 1st on Steam, is brimming with exciting new features that I can’t wait for you all to experience!

  • AI overhaul
  • Task system
  • Armor system
  • Crafting system
  • Map upgrades
  • New trader: Doctor
  • Ammo types
  • Area & container based loot
  • New weapons
  • New attachments
  • New medical items
  • New post-processing
  • Indoor occlusion probes
  • Underground elements
  • Water reflections and ice
  • Starting kits
  • Dynamic ambient SFX
  • Limited AI map pools
  • Destroyable mines
  • Improved controller
  • Collision and bug fixes

This list is so extensive, it almost seems unbelievable that it’s intended to enhance a demonstration version of the product.

The demonstration can only be found on Steam and doesn’t require payment for installation. It launches publicly on October 1st, and I plan to attend.
