LEGO Fan Uses Bonsai Set to Build Zelda Deku Tree

A passionate LEGO builder recently created an impressive Great Deku Tree, a character from The Legend of Zelda, using only the pieces from another LEGO set – without needing any extra parts! It’s common for LEGO fans to completely reimagine and rebuild sets into something new, and it seems LEGO inspires a lot of creativity. This fan’s creation has especially wowed both the Zelda and LEGO communities with its ingenuity.

I’m a huge fan of this LEGO builder, Minute_Food_2881 on Reddit! You might have heard of them – they went viral before for turning a Lightning McQueen build into the Millennium Falcon – seriously, it was amazing! They called it the Millennium McQueen, and the LEGO subreddit went crazy with praise. It’s well-deserved, because looking through their past builds shows just how creative they are. They’ve even turned a Millennium Falcon into the USS Voyager from Star Trek! But it doesn’t stop there – they’ve completely rebuilt tons of Star Wars ships and even the Transformers sets. It’s incredible stuff!

Custom LEGO Deku Tree Build

A Reddit user named Minute_Food_2881 cleverly built a Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda using only the pieces included in the LEGO Bonsai Tree set. While other fans have created LEGO versions of Zelda locations like Hyrule Castle and the Temple of Time, this build is especially remarkable because it doesn’t use any additional LEGO bricks. People online were immediately impressed, with many asking for building instructions and saying it’s a more creative use of the set than the official model itself.

This custom LEGO build pays homage to the Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. LEGO already released an official Deku Tree set, but it was expensive at $300. Some fans also didn’t like that the official set could be rebuilt into something else, believing this contributed to the high cost. This makes Minute_Food_2881’s custom build, which uses only the LEGO Bonsai Tree and costs just $50, a really attractive option, particularly if instructions are made available.

It’s wonderful to see so much creativity within the LEGO community, remembering that’s how LEGO was always meant to be used. LEGO’s unique ability to spark the imagination of both kids and adults is unmatched, bringing fond memories to some and creating new ones for others. While LEGO recently released a great gaming set for under $60, their official Deku Tree set isn’t quite as appealing, making this custom-built alternative a really good choice for many fans. We don’t know if this will be the last custom build from Minute_Food_2881, but considering they just finished the Millennium McQueen set a few days ago, it’s likely we’ll see more from them in the future.
