In MIO: Memories in Orbit, you play as Mio, a small robot exploring a spaceship. This ship was once full of life, but now it drifts through space, abandoned and silent.
When you start exploring the ship, you quickly realize most of the robots are broken or can’t be fixed. That’s why it’s a welcome surprise to find a helpful robot in the Dwellings. It tells you about Metropolis, a place where other survivors are, but the door to get there is locked. Here’s how to reach Metropolis in MIO: Memories in Orbit.
How To Enter The Metropolis In MIO Memories in Orbit
To get into the city of Metropolis in MIO: Memories in Orbit, you’ll need to access it from the opposite side. First, you have to learn the Hairpin skill, which lets you grab onto the green crystals inside the ship.
Next, take the elevator to The Spine level and turn left. This time, instead of going down like you did to get the Hairpin skill, continue heading left until you find Mel, or the room where you first met her.
Now that you have the Hairpin, you can climb upwards. Continue going up until you reach the Metropolis door from the opposite side. Be sure to open the door before you continue.
Beyond the next door, you’ll encounter Acat, a boss who’s preventing Mio from reaching Metropolis. Defeat Acat and continue to the left.
You’ll find a damaged Overseer creature hiding in the Dwellings. Repair it, and it will fly off. Don’t worry about why just yet – this will help you later on.
Keep heading left and free fall down until there’s a way to the left again.
Eventually, you’ll arrive at the main gate to Metropolis. To your left, you’ll find a station where you can update your map with any new areas you’ve discovered.
If you’re not sure what to do, head right to go back to Shii. You should find a path downwards that leads to a shortcut into the square room.
If you haven’t already, climb up and then slide down to get to the icy, spiked area. Grab the item on one of the spikes, then continue to the right. This will unlock a shortcut that takes you to the room where you rescue Rad from the locked door.
