As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the costume designs in Gotham Knights are nothing short of impressive! The Shinobi style, with its clear Japanese inspiration, adds a unique twist to our beloved characters’ appearances. The patience required to acquire these suits, restricted as they are to case 6 drops, makes the eventual acquisition all the more satisfying.

As I dive into the thrilling open-world game, Gotham Knights, I’m constantly on the lookout for the various superhero suit styles hidden throughout the city. Some of these suits are found as random loot drops during my quests, while others are exclusive bonuses for pre-ordering or purchasing the deluxe edition. Regardless of how I obtain them, each suit style allows me to showcase the unique identities of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin in my own distinctive way.

In the game “Gotham Knights”, some of the character’s suits draw inspiration from comic books. However, other suits are exclusive creations by Warner Bros. Montreal, the developers of the game. The game offers a rich selection of the best suits, and the methods to acquire them can differ based on the specific outfit you’re aiming for.

16 Gilded Age

How To Unlock: Use The Codes From All Six Issues Of The Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded City Comic Book (Print or Digital)

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: All issues can be found in online retailer stores or DC Universe: Infinite

In the “Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded City” comic, the suit styles exclusive to purchasers are quite distinct. These suits showcase the classic and frequently brooding characters of the Bat Family in an unusual way, with vibrant costumes that resemble old-west cowboys.

In a more casual tone: The outfits seem like they’re from a bizarre alternate universe comic book, and they don’t quite match the game’s visual style. But in Gotham Knights, that’s part of the charm – they offer suits for all types of players, including some pretty quirky designs.

15 New Guard

How To Unlock: Default Suit Upon Starting The Game

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Start A New Game With Chosen Characters

You don’t need to acquire the New Guard suits for any reason other than starting the game. These are the standard outfits they wear initially when they discover Batman deceased in the damaged Batcave and Wayne Manor, which marks the beginning of their adventure. The characters have distinctive styles such as Robin’s long coat, Nightwing’s blue chestpiece, Batgirl’s purple outfit, and Red Hood’s brown sleeveless hoodie.

The New Guard’s appearance blends timeless and contemporary styles for their characters. Batgirl incorporates elements from her Burnside outfit as well as her New 52 suit, whereas Nightwing seems to embody aspects from various Nightwing designs spanning the last three to four decades of comic books.

14 Eternal

How To Unlock: Beat Mr. Freeze & Craft The Eternal Suit Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Regulators, Mob, Freaks, Court of Owls, & Watch Missions

The Eternal-style costumes have a comic book feel, particularly when it comes to Tim Drake’s Robin costume, which only reveals his mouth under the cowl, much like his Red Robin phase. This design aligns more with his Red Robin image. Each character’s outfit is heavily influenced by the comics, effectively translating the fantastical comic book pages into a video game format.

Players must gather every gear fragment or design blueprints to activate the Eternal outfits. In addition, they need to accomplish Lucius Fox’s task to acquire a transmog appearance, enabling them to apply this style onto any suit; however, it will lack customization possibilities.

13 Knight Ops

How To Unlock: Complete All Secret Cache Side Quests

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: League of Shadows, Mob & Regulators Side Ops

If you’re aiming for a more raw and authentic portrayal of the Gotham Knights, akin to how Robert Pattinson depicts Batman, consider the Knight Ops costumes. These fashionable ensembles are tailored for street combat, with a focus on military-inspired aesthetics, pockets, and equipment. The color palette is muted, prepared for battle, and Nightwing takes on a look reminiscent of The Winter Soldier.

Scattered around Gotham, Batman has hidden secret stashes. Once all twelve of these are found by Knights, they’ll get the Knight Ops suit as a reward. But remember, it won’t happen overnight. Each stash can only be claimed during a specific patrol night, so you’ll have to wait for each one to appear.

12 Privateer

How To Unlock: Craft The Privateer Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Court of Owls, Mob, Regulators & Freaks Side Ops

As a gamer, I can tell you that the Privateer suit’s design is heavily inspired by hefty pirate coats, giving the Knights an authentic feel straight out of a popular pirate-themed video game. These outfits, with their steampunk influence, make the Gotham heroes appear as if they hail from another world entirely, and definitely not from our own time.

After acquiring the Privateer style through random loot or side missions, players can then unlock various suits. Additionally, if a player wishes to maintain a pirate aesthetic throughout the game, they can utilize the transmog feature to apply the Privateer style to any suit of their choosing.

11 Neon Noir

How To Unlock: Craft The Neon Noir Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob & Freaks Side Ops

In contrast to many superhero costumes found in Gotham Knights, the Neon Noir style is characterized by a streamlined and minimalist design that places less focus on armor compared to other styles. Characters like Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson sport more contemporary hairstyles, while their suits have a cool, biker-inspired aesthetic.

Players will find it relatively simple to obtain Neon Noir, as it’s one of the earlier styles to be unlocked during gameplay. The necessary blueprints for the suits can be found through chance encounters with enemy drops or hidden in loot chests.

10 Metal

How To Unlock: Craft The Metal Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob, Regulators & Freaks Side Ops

Even though Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood aren’t invulnerable to bullets, their strength lies in knowing they can’t afford to get hit, as it would be lethal. Fortunately, the Metal suit designs seem to offer complete protection akin to Iron Man’s armor for each hero, ensuring their safety.

Because the Metal suit style is heavily influenced by armor, it’s perfect for players who want their characters to resemble those from the Batman: Arkham series. In fact, Red Hood bears a striking resemblance to how he appeared during the final boss fight against him in Batman: Arkham Knight.

9 Beyond

How To Unlock: Purchase The Deluxe / Collector’s Edition Upgrade

  • Available For: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Use The Transmog System

As a gamer, I’m drawing inspiration straight from the “Batman Beyond” animated series for these suits, with Barbara’s outfit leaning more towards the Nissa version of Batgirl. Each Beyond suit sports a generous layer of black, while the primary color of each character is prominently displayed on their chest symbol. Notably, characters like Batgirl and Robin are missing their iconic capes in this design.

Regrettably, the Beyond suit style is only available in either the Deluxe or Collector’s Edition of Gotham Knights. Acquiring the Collector’s Edition can be quite challenging. However, once you have it, playing as the cyberpunk superhero inspired by Terry McGinnis will make you feel truly unique and futuristic.

8 Titan

Complete All Knighthood Challenges For Each Knight

  • Available For: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob & Freaks Side Ops

For each character, there’s a unique quest for knighthood. When all four of these quests are finished, players can acquire the Titan outfits. These costumes boast an armored style, with protective pieces seamlessly integrated into their designs. The vibrant colors make it clear to any wrongdoers who will be meting out justice.

In truth, the Titan suits embody a sense of grandeur, making those who wear them seem like towering guardians over Gotham City – fitting since Batman is often seen as an embodiment of justice itself. These suits blend contemporary and ancient styles, reminiscent of both classic comic book depictions and adaptations of the Dark Knight’s attire.

7 Year One

How To Unlock: Find All Batarangs

  • Available For: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob & Regulators Side Ops

In the game “Gotham Knights,” the Year One suits appear to be more down-to-earth compared to others, suggesting that the characters crafted their suits from items found at a pawn shop. Characters such as Robin and Red Hood don casual attire like hoodies and jackets, while Batgirl seems to have acquired her armor by looting from the GCPD.

In the vicinity of Gotham, Batman has numerous batarangs from previous escapades waiting to be gathered. Accumulate enough of these distinctive items from Batman’s toolkit, and you’ll gain access to the Year One suits. This is ideal for fans who appreciate a minimalist design in their superheroes, as opposed to elaborate armor or complex super-suits.

6 Talon

How To Unlock: Find All Talon Caches

  • Available For: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: 5 Talon Cache Locations

The outfits draw inspiration from the Talon assassins, who are under the command of the Court of Owls, as depicted in the game Gotham Knights. Alfred offers players various tasks requiring them to search for murals at multiple, secretive locations spread across Gotham City. Once all five have been discovered, players can then don the Talon costume.

The Talon armors have a straightforward design that adapts to each hero, yet they’re intricately crafted to resemble feathers embedded onto the armor. Sadly, it can only be obtained as a Transmog with no personalization options, which is somewhat disheartening considering there are several Talon enemy designs within the game that could have been used for customization.

5 Demon

How To Unlock: Complete Chapter 5 & Craft The Demon Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: League of Shadows & Mob Side Ops

Based on its name, it’s clear that the Demon suits are modeled after the primary antagonistic group in the game, the League of Shadows. These suits exhibit an edge, complete with straps and masks to hide their wearers’ identities. Notably, the Red Hood suit resembles a desiccated corpse, fitting with his sorrowful backstory.

To create this particular style, players must fashion the suit in the specified manner, in order to acquire each gear item. The blueprints for the Demon style can be effortlessly obtained by overcoming League Of Shadows and Mob operations within Gotham’s cityscape during free-roaming, or even by completing floors of the Heroic Assault game mode.

4 Shinobi

How To Unlock: Complete Chapter 5 & Craft The Shinobi Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: League of Shadows & Mob Side Ops

In the Shinobi styles, there’s a strong focus on Japanese culture. This influence is evident in the unique costumes of Gotham’s superheroes, such as Batgirl and Nightwing who sport traditional top-knot hairstyles. Each character exudes a sense of strength and respect for combat, making them intriguing figures.

The Shinobi suit style demands patience since the gear drops are limited to roughly Case 6, which is close to the game’s concluding storyline. As you progress through the game, these suits will become accessible, but players must conquer the tasks presented to them first.

3 Knighthood

How To Unlock: Beat The Game With Character Of Choice

  • Available For: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Complete The Game With The Character Players Want The Knighthood Style For

The armor sets for knights align better with Batman’s visual aesthetic. They have a thick layer of black, with just a few accents in other colors surrounding the emblem of each character. These armor sets are only given as a reward when the game’s story has been fully completed by the player.

In the style of Knighthood, players are motivated to replay the game to obtain a unique suit for each Knight character. It appears that these Knighthood suits represent the future development for the game Gotham Knights. The characters have chosen to uphold Batman’s legacy by preserving Gotham and embodying his ideals in their knightly attire.

2 Raider

How To Unlock: Complete The Kelvin Incident Heroic Assault

  • Available For: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: The Kelvin Incident Heroic Incident

As a devoted fan, I can attest that gaining access to the Raider suits is no walk in the park. This challenge demands players to conquer all fifteen levels of Heroic Assault mode, famously known as The Kelvin Incident. After successfully vanquishing formidable foes such as Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, and Clayface, the coveted Raider suit is yours to claim!

The Raider suit design has a rough, battle-hardened appearance that gives off an impression of long-term usage, making the Gotham Knights seem as if they’ve been in action for quite some time. The armor is adorned with simulated battle scars reminiscent of those seen on armors from comic book films following the climactic fight scene.

1 Knightwatch

How To Unlock: Purchase The Deluxe Edition, Collector’s Edition, Or Visionary Pack

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Complete Case 1.3, Then Use The Transmog System

Warner Bros. Montreal enlisted the help of renowned artist and writer, Jim Lee, who has long been associated with DC Comics, to create unique suits for each character in the Knightwatch series. Given his extensive background in comic book artistry, it’s no wonder that his designs closely resemble characters straight from the comics pages.

As an avid fan, I can’t help but admire the vibrant wardrobe each character dons in Gotham Knights. However, it’s unfortunate that one exceptional suit design, nestled within the Visionary Pack, remains exclusive behind a paywall. This stylish bundle is still up for grabs on all platforms for a reasonable $25.
