As an avid fan of Remnant 2, I’m excited to share some insights about unlocking the new Traits introduced in the Dark Horizon DLC. Unlike previous content, these Traits won’t be immediately available at the start of the DLC. Instead, you’ll need to complete certain tasks to unlock them. This guide aims to provide a clear path on how to achieve this and help fellow fans obtain every single Trait in Remnant 2‘s The Dark Horizon DLC.

As players delve into The Dark Horizon DLC within Remnant 2, they’ll discover numerous obelisks bathed in light strategically placed across the surroundings. While most of these obelisks emit a yellow glow, there are distinctly three that shine purple. To acquire the Preservation Trait, enthusiasts must uncover these three luminescent purple obelisks, interact with their terminals, and vanquish the adversaries that materialize.

As an avid admirer, I’m sharing some handy tips on navigating towards the trio of striking purple obelisks. Once you vanquish the foes that swarm around each one, they’ll transform into vibrant yellow monuments!

Purple Obelisk #1 Location

  1. Start at the Anterior Recess checkpoint in the Agronomy Sector.
  2. Stick to the right on the path beyond the checkpoint to reach a Glider station.
  3. Use the Glider to safely descend onto the landmass that is directly below its station. The first purple obelisk is on that landmass.

Purple Obelisk #2 Location

  1. Start at the Anterior Recess checkpoint in the Agronomy Sector.
  2. Stick to the right on the path beyond the checkpoint to reach a Glider station.
  3. Glide forward and to the left to reach the landmass on the other side of the gap, using air currents to maintain elevation if necessary.
  4. Walk forward and stick to the right to reach a second Glider station.
  5. Glide to the landmass that is directly ahead, using an air current to maintain elevation if necessary. The second purple obelisk is on that landmass.

Purple Obelisk #3 Location

  1. Start at the Waylaid Conservatory checkpoint in the Withered Necropolis.
  2. Walk forward to reach a Glider station that is just past a Remnant 2 NPC.
  3. Descend slightly and follow the poison river to reach an air current.
  4. Hit the air current, turn right, and glide forward.
  5. Hit the air current on the right, and look to the right. Players who look in that direction should see the third purple obelisk on an elevated landmass.
  6. Use the air current that is ahead to reach that landmass.

Players venturing thoroughly into The Dark Horizon in Remnant 2 will stumble upon two significant crystals that aren’t necessary to destroy but can be broken. If players decide to demolish neither or only one of these crystals, they’ll still gain the Insight Trait upon defeating Alepsis-Taura, the DLC’s final boss.
