Tony Hawk has continued to talk about the future of the Pro Skater franchise and games.
25 years after the initial release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, it’s been revealed that Hawk has been in discussions with Activision about the series. Now, on the exact anniversary of this landmark event, Hawk has posted on Instagram, sharing memories and hinting at potential future developments.
Hawk expressed in his post that he primarily played the game for the amusement of skaters. He didn’t anticipate it would break out from a small market to achieve such massive success, and some believe it reshaped skateboarding’s popularity (and potentially even skate trick development). Regardless, it significantly altered the trajectory of his own life…
Later on, he concluded by stating, “I’m not allowed to reveal much more about the upcoming series, but rest assured, there is indeed a future ahead.

The fate of what will come next is still uncertain. It might turn out to be the remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4, which was in development by Vicarious Visions but later abandoned when the studio was merged with Activision. Could it be possible that this project has been secretly revived? Or, is there a chance we could see an entirely new Tony Hawk game emerge instead?
Back in September, Hawk mentioned that he was in discussions with Activision once more, though he didn’t reveal many details.
At that moment, Hawk remarked, “I wish I had more to share with you,” but he added, “I’ve been in discussions with Activision once more, and it’s incredibly thrilling! We’re developing something together.
