In a game as vast as Starfield, boasting over 1000 planets for exploration, you might find yourself perplexed about where to begin. After all, simply flying towards Va’ruun’kai and hoping for a helpful questline isn’t always the answer. Here’s a guide on how to initiate Shattered Space in Starfield!

How to Start the Shattered Space Quest

To initiate the Shattered Space expansion, you should finish “One Small Step,” the game’s initial quest, which guides you through the tutorial on Vectera and Kreet before reaching Jemison for your first interaction with Constellation. It’s optional to join Constellation at this point; instead, you can tell them you need some time to consider, then return to the spaceport to depart. After that, travel to any nearby system without a mission or random encounter. In such a system, you’ll receive an emergency signal from an unidentified source, leading you to The Oracle space station.

In essence, it’s advisable to reach level 35 prior to embarking on Shattered Space. Although you can explore Va’ruun’kai at lower levels, be prepared for some tough challenges ahead!
