Horikoshi doesn’t shy away from inflicting significant setbacks on both the protagonists and antagonists, which adds an element of danger and tension to the narrative, making the battle between righteousness and wickedness feel more impactful. Among the deceased prominent heroes in My Hero Academia, there are several powerful and influential characters who have left lasting impressions on the storyline.

8. Water Hose

The Husband/Wife Duo’s Death Scarred Their Son

In my observation, the valiant pair known as the Water Hose were none other than Kota Izumi’s devoted parents. They may not have been widely recognized, but they displayed immense courage when defending their village against the formidable Muscular. Regrettably, they made the ultimate sacrifice in their efforts, leaving a profound void in the life of their son.

Initially, Kota harbored disdain for heroes and displayed an aggressive attitude towards Izuku during the training camp storyline of the series. Yet, he quickly gained insight into the hero’s world and, as per the narrative progression, is depicted as a student in his first year at UA, setting a path towards becoming a hero himself.

7. Snatch

The Sand Hero’s Death Was Noble

Among the heroic characters, Snatch stood out as someone whose backstory would have been intriguing to learn more about. His unique power, the ability to transform his upper body into sand, was remarkably potent. Notably, Snatch is among a select few heroes who were completely resistant to Shigaraki’s decay quirk.

In a nutshell, this character is renowned for his noble demeanor and compassion towards the less fortunate. However, when he encountered the band of villains, both Dabi and Mr. Compress managed to bring him down. His passing was widely reported, yet there were many who wished to witness him in action due to the immense promise his unique ability held.

6. X-Less

Sacrificed For Shigaraki’s Reawakening

X-Less, a prudent hero, merely tagged along during the Jaku hospital raid. As Present Mic pursued Doctor Garaki, X-Less was assigned the challenging task of neutralizing Shigaraki, who was confined in his revival chamber. Despite taking every safety measure, he unfortunately found himself captured by the rejuvenated Shigaraki.

The character was a vigilante with the ability to shoot laser beams from one eye. His demise, albeit tragic, emphasized the destructive might of Shigaraki’s amplified deterioration powers. Additionally, his cape, which he had proudly worn, was stolen by the antagonist.

5. Crust

The No. 6 Strongest Hero

At his untimely demise, Crust was among the leading heroes revered in Japan. Known for his defensive prowess, he had the ability to construct barriers not only for himself but also for his teammates. Additionally, these shields served as offensive weapons as well. His strength was such that he could easily handle multiple powerful Nomu. To sum it up, Crust was a highly skilled hero overall.

Additionally, he met his end just as he had lived – by protecting others. In this instance, it was Eraserhead who required aid, standing on the brink of Shigaraki’s destructive decay assault. His final moments were marked by a serene smile and a gesture of approval. Although his passing is deeply mourned, his selfless act of sacrifice will forever be etched in our memories.

4. Midnight

Not Many Were Expecting Her To Fall

At midnight, she was a distinguished teacher at UA and one of the elite pro heroes in the series. Her unique ability, Somnambulist, allowed her to put adversaries into a slumber with a scent that emanated from her person. She was an invaluable asset to students of class 1-A, and they were deeply affected when they discovered she had passed away.

In the struggle against Gigantomachia, she suffered a fall, ultimately meeting her end at the hands of some unyielding vigilantes. Despite attempting to halt his destructive rampage, she couldn’t prevent it, and the consequences were fatal for her. Her demise came as a shock, underscoring how MHA fearlessly eliminates cherished characters.

3. Sir Nighteye

One Of The Most Painful Deaths Of The Whole Series

As a die-hard fan, I used to look up to the legendary figure who was once the sidekick of the mighty All Might and the esteemed mentor to the top hero student, Lemillion (Mirio Togata). Known as Sir Nighteye, he was relentlessly seeking a worthy successor for the powerhouse quirk, One For All. However, I found myself at odds with his stance when it came to my favorite young prodigy, Midoriya.

His unique ability, known as Foresight, was incredibly potent and allowed him an uncanny vision of the future concerning his targets with remarkable precision. Unfortunately, he perished after being pierced by Overhaul’s spikes, which led to a desperate struggle for survival in the hospital. However, his efforts were futile, and his death scene stood out as one of the most poignant moments across the entire series.

2. Nana Shimura

She Was The One Who Gave All Might His Ability

Nana Shimura served as the seventh bearer of the One For All ability and was destined to pass it on to All Might. Besides being the grandmother of Tomura Shigaraki, her choice to sacrifice her own son for the life of a superhero brought about some sad outcomes.

From my perspective, I’ve witnessed a remarkable individual who wielded the One For All power with great might. Not only was she a formidable hero, but she played a pivotal role in shaping All Might into the symbol of peace we know today. Regrettably, she succumbed to the grasp of All For One. Yet, her strength and character continue to resonate within the One For All quirk, most notably in her unwavering determination that echoes particularly in her readiness to sacrifice her own grandson for the greater good of humanity.

1. Cathleen Bate

The Strongest Hero To Go Down

In simpler terms, Cathleen Bate, more famously known by her aliases Star and Stripe, was America’s mightiest hero. She single-handedly managed to hold back the revived Shigaraki, even with his All For One abilities. To her, All Might served as a mentor, and her confrontation with Shigaraki stood out significantly during the seventh season.

Her unique talent, New Order, was astonishingly potent, allowing her to establish new guidelines for objects and surroundings at will. This power made her one of the most formidable heroes, so much so that even All For One expressed a desire to seize One For All before confronting her, highlighting her might. Though she met her end, her significance persisted throughout the final battle, ultimately contributing to the heroes’ triumph.
