Key Takeaways

  • Kiefer Sutherland is focusing on his music career, potentially delaying the potential 24 Movie.
  • Sutherland is a genuine country artist who prioritizes connections with fans through his music.
  • Despite musical success, Sutherland remains open to reprising his iconic role as Jack Bauer.

As a die-hard fan of Kiefer Sutherland, I must say it’s truly inspiring to see him pursuing his passion for music with such fervor. Yet, the thought of Jack Bauer gracing our screens once more in the 24 Movie is a tantalizing prospect that keeps us fans on the edge of our seats.

Although Kiefer Sutherland hasn’t officially agreed to star in the upcoming 24 movie, it seems unlikely that the action series would transition smoothly to the cinema without Jack Bauer. Currently, 20th Century Studios and Disney are working on the project at an early stage, but given Sutherland’s passion for his new career as a country musician, it may be necessary for him to free up some time before the 24 movie can move forward with its big screen release.

Since 2016, Sutherland has unveiled three albums, with another one, titled ‘Grey’, set for release in January 2025. His music style is often categorized as a blend of country and Americana. Over the past few years, he’s been performing extensively across Europe and the U.S. It’s anticipated that he will continue touring in 2025 to publicize his forthcoming album, suggesting his calendar may be quite packed, implying it might take some time before Jack Bauer’s big-screen debut happens.

Kiefer Sutherland Dispels The Myth That Actors Only Make Music As Some Kind Of Vanity Project

Kiefer Sutherland proves himself to be both an authentic country music artist and a renowned Hollywood actor. It’s not common for actors to excel in music or vice versa, but Kiefer is the exception. He possesses the same captivating charm on stage as he does on the silver screen, and his deep voice suits the country tunes he composes and sings beautifully. Despite having a dedicated fanbase, he still performs in more intimate venues, which adds to the close connection he shares with his audience.

The small student union at Hull University in northern England, rather than a vast city arena, is more fitting for Kiefer’s performances. He forms a closer bond with his audience as he recounts amusing incidents from his vibrant life and interprets the messages within numerous songs.

  • Down In A Hole (2016)
  • Reckless And Me (2019)
  • Bloor Street (2022)
  • Grey (2025

Kiefer’s side job isn’t simply a matter of personal preference or self-indulgence, unlike some actors who transition from films to music production. Instead, he pens and performs a diverse collection of tracks, encompassing romantic ballads about his horse from his Hollywood wilderness rodeo days in the 90s, as well as gritty Americana rock anthems that resonate deeply.

Jack Bauer Key Facts

  • He killed 309 people on screen between 2001-2014.
  • Bauer wasn’t an official CTU agent from Season 4 onwards.

Kiefer Sutherland is deeply committed to his music and never disappoints his audience. When he fell ill with COVID-19 and had to postpone a string of performances, he made it a priority to reschedule them for the following year to keep his promises. He’s a natural storyteller, whether on screen or through music, and right now, he’s mainly sharing stories through his music.

Music has always been a part of my life, but let me tell you, it was never something I actively pursued. In fact, I’d dabbled with songwriting off and on since I was 15, but it felt like those inspired moments were few and far between, like songs falling from the sky into my lap. However, as I approached my thirties, I found myself writing a lot more songs. By the time I turned 40, I had amassed quite a collection of tunes that I was fond of. So, I gathered approximately 10 to 15 of those songs and took them to Jude (Cole), explaining my desire to record them and see if any BMI artists would be interested in performing them. To my surprise, Jude appreciated my work and encouraged me to move forward with the project myself.

Regardless of his passion for music and constant touring, there’s optimism for fans eager to see Jack Bauer again on the big screen in the 24 Movie. Sutherland has expressed a willingness to revisit the memorable character in the future, as shared in an interview with Metro.

As a devoted fan, I can’t imagine ever turning down an opportunity related to 24. If a brilliant concept arises, count me in – I won’t hesitate! It was one of the most memorable experiences in my professional journey (arguably the most memorable), and I deeply miss it.
