Remnant 2: How to Beat Alepsis-Taura (& Alternate Kill)

Remnant 2: How to Beat Alepsis-Taura (& Alternate Kill)

As a seasoned veteran of Remnant 2, I’ve battled my fair share of formidable foes, but none have tested my mettle quite like Alepsis-Taura. This towering titan is a relentless force to be reckoned with, and it takes more than just quick reflexes to survive its onslaught.

In the Dark Horizon DLC of Remnant 2, the ultimate adversary is Alepsis-Taura, an AI entity resembling a black hole, commonly referred to as ‘The Voice.’ Defeating this boss can be quite tough due to its multiple stages and powerful assaults. If you’re finding it hard to beat Alepsis-Taura, don’t worry! There are some useful strategies that can help extend your survival time.

You may be curious about when to initiate the battle against the Alepsis-Taura boss, and this decision hinges on the kind of rewards you’re aiming for. In keeping with the distinctive style of Remnant 2, there is a potential alternate method to defeat Alepsis-Taura, offering different prizes compared to the standard route.

Where To Find Alepsis-Taura In Remnant 2 The Dark Horizon DLC And When To Fight

Remnant 2: How to Beat Alepsis-Taura (& Alternate Kill)

In the Dark Horizon DLC for the game Remnant 2, the location Alepsis-Taura is found at the top of a tower within The Convergence, as shown in the image above. This is the last area on the DLC map. The Gardener cautions you not to visit this place when first meeting him. Upon entering The Convergence, you can engage in a conversation with Alepsis-Taura. You have the option to either confront it immediately (Alepsis-Taura hints that you are unprepared but allows you to challenge it nonetheless or postpone the fight), which leads you down the Alt-kill pathway. Alternatively, to access a different set of rewards, you must first locate and destroy the two large prism crystals before encountering Alepsis-Taura.

How To Beat Alepsis-Taura Final Boss In Remnant 2 The Dark Horizon DLC

Unlike smaller bosses encountered in The Dark Horizon DLC of Remnant 2, such as the N’Erudian Reaper, which are often less challenging due to unique obstacles, the Alepsis-Taura final boss can prove to be a challenging battle. The Alepsis-Taura’s attack patterns don’t follow a specific sequence, but generally adhere to these three distinct phases:

  • Phase OneSwiping move forward twice, shock wave attacks, and yellow-white beam or wall attacks, before trapping you in a pyramid after about a third health depletion. The Pyramid attack throws circular horizontal and vertical beam pulses at you to dodge without sound cues. However, you only need to dodge the horizontal ring to survive.
  • Phase Two – After surviving the pyramid attack, Alepsis pounds the ground or swipes with tentacle arm attacks, some of which have a noise cue.
  • Phase Three – In the final phase, Alepsis throws walls that move from the edge to the center, followed by a large wall that spans the length of the arena and homing missiles. The latter wall and missiles repeat until you defeat it, where stamina and ammo can become an issue if you’re not careful.

Regardless of its various stages, the struggle ultimately boils down to a test of timing. Even though some players favor specific playstyles, it’s not overly difficult to win using these strategies, as demonstrated in the video below that showcases the Alepsis-Taura Alt Kill Victory.

Learn To Time Dodges With Alepsis-Taura’s Attacks And Audio Cues

To effectively evade most of Alepsis-Taura’s attacks, it’s crucial to learn their rhythm, often identified by a distinct, high-pitched sound that alerts you when it’s about to strike, such as its swiping move which occurs twice. Utilize these auditory cues to time your dodges, thus avoiding unnecessary hits and maintaining your health. As you progress, become aware of the attacks to dodge, usually indicated by yellow walls or beams that require a roll-under or sidestep. Typically, it’s best to dodge horizontal attacks and sidestep vertical ones. In Phase Three, it’s essential to pass through the large wall and continue running to evade the missiles.

Keep Distance To Avoid Shockwave, Projectile, And Tentacle Attacks

In most of its attacks, Alepsis-Taura is incredibly powerful, yet none are as dangerous as the one that creates a shockwave pulling you in and could lead to immediate destruction. To minimize this risk, it’s best to maintain a safe distance whenever possible. During Phase Two, be sure to keep your distance from its tentacle attacks as well, especially the ground pound ones that draw you in like the shockwave attack. As the battle enters its final stages in phase three, Alepsis will launch homing projectiles that can cause instant death if multiple hits land simultaneously, so it’s crucial to stay clear of these.

Lifesteal To Replenish Health

As a devoted fan, I’d recommend equipping a potent weapon from Remnant 2, like the Nightfall long gun, which boasts life-stealing abilities. These weapons are particularly effective since they help restore your health, reducing the need for Relics. By doing so, you can maintain your health and keep battling longer without interruption.

Watch Out For The Edge While Running Or Dodging

In the battle arena with Alepsis-Taura, there are no walls to hold onto, so be mindful of where you place your feet. This is crucial when maneuvering to dodge his shockwave attacks, as it’s simple to lose balance and fall off if you’re too focused on the boss’s actions.
