This season has had its ups and downs, but this episode was undeniably an enjoyable watch.

In the thrilling 13th episode of the “Tower of God’s Return of the Prince” storyline, we were introduced to the exciting Workshop Battle arc, hinted to be filled with intense action. Our protagonist, known as “FUG Slayer Candidate Jue Viole Grace (Bam)” who we’ve followed throughout this season, is now allied with FUG agents after being forced into a union. Conversely, Khun Aguero Agnes, whose team was decimated by FUG and faced an assassination attempt, has taken command of the group that Bam had been carrying for nearly two years.

This episode, filled with humor and setting up an intriguing plotline for the future, was quite enjoyable despite some visually enticing yet underwhelming moments from its second season. Will Aguero guide his team to a groundbreaking victory against numerous other formidable teams competing in the Workshop Battle?

Ja Wangnan Was Apprehensive at First

Tower of God Season 2, Episode 13: Preparing For the Workshop Battle

Following a discussion with Hwaryun and gaining insights into Bam’s circumstances, Aguero elects to become part of Team Sweet and Sour. Initially, Ja Wangnan expressed some displeasure with this choice, particularly because Aguero seemed to treat it as a settled matter. Wangnan’s reservations were rooted partly in doubts about the team’s capabilities and uncertainty regarding Aguero’s motivations. After a short chat, they both realized that they are comrades of Viole/Bam, with a shared goal of finding him again and safeguarding him from FUG.

Understanding that they all share similar goals thanks to their bond with Viole/Bam, Ja Wangnan and Aguero seal a deal, with the latter asserting his belief in leading Team Sweet and Sour to victory at the Workshop Battle set for a month ahead. The team members acknowledge Aguero’s confidence, but they can’t resist poking fun at him, adding some humor to this episode of Tower of God. It’s worth mentioning that despite being deep into the series, we still don’t know much about our main characters.

Khun’s Grueling Training Begins

Team Sweet and Sour Pass The Test

Only one more hurdle stands between Team Sweet and Sour and their participation in the Workshop Battle: a final exam. If they pass, they’ll gain access to the 30th floor of the Tower, where the battle takes place. For a month, Khun has been training them relentlessly, allowing Dan enough time to recover from his injuries so he can walk again. The concern for Ja Wangnan and others is whether they’ll be able to fight effectively without their key offensive members Viole and Ilmar; but for Khun, this test presents a unique challenge because he’s never been on a team with anyone less capable. The day before the exam, Khun gives the team a much-needed break, but their nerves keep them awake all night to cram in more training. On the day of the test, they’re tired but manage to catch some sleep during the flight to the testing location. Despite his anxiety, Khun can finally relax when the results are announced, and he eagerly anticipates the Workshop Battle.

Just as Khun has been honing Team Sweet and Sour, Viole and his FUG-supported team have equally been enhancing their skills and team dynamics. Even Novick, who was once part of Khun’s disbanded group, acknowledges the exceptional talent within this team, reflecting FUG’s commitment. Despite being confined for a month following the destruction of the Hand of Arlen, Novick and Khun Ran have been treated like captives by Viole and Cassano, but at Viole’s behest, they are released from their restraints. This freedom will be crucial during the Workshop Battle. Though mostly shielded by Viole, they remain puzzled about his motives. When Viole reveals it’s because they’re Khun Aguero’s friends, their confusion deepens as he remains tight-lipped regarding further explanations. He simply asks for their trust. The Workshop Battle has now begun, and each competing team is transported to a massive vessel called the Archimedes. As the season finale of Tower of God, we are introduced to new characters who will play significant roles in the Workshop Battle arc, offering a promising start to an otherwise underwhelming second season.
